You just reminded me that there was another doll, of young Tiana. Not plush, but vinyl (?).

I'll prolly get at least one of the Tiana dolls for my collection--the variety of dolls released with this movie is especially encouraging. :)

It's been a long, long time since I've been on this board, but this movie has me really excited. :D

I, too, don't understand where all the hate is coming from. The first five minutes was beautiful!!!! I had a smile on my face the whole time. So what if there isn't a big opening number like "Belle," "Circle of Life," and "True Love's Kiss"? The little song/prologue grabbed my attention and sets the tone for the rest of the movie. I also like how we get to see her childhood, even for a little bit. The only other Disney princess that we know something about her childhood is Cinderella.

Just two more months! :-D

On top of that "Belle" doesn't even begin until we're already about 2:30 mins into the film.

To base your liking of this film with the first 5 or so mins of footage is silly. Beyond that to dislike it because it doesn't begin right away with a song is even more silly. The majority of Disney's greats don't start right off with memorable opening song at all.

Where are people seeing hate for the opening 5 min? I really haven't seen anyone hate on it. I also don't remember seeing anyone say they didn't like it because it lacks a musical number or that the whole movie will suck because they didn't like the opening

Anyways, I re-watched they opening again and I like it a little more. Still not great but charming none-the-less, although I noticed some spotty animation upon second viewing. I'm very excited to see this movie.

I'm in NYC. I'm definitely going to the early premiere, but I haven't bought my ticket yet. Which ticket are you going to buy, the 30 or 50 dollar one?

Yes, but the one in LA is at the actual Disney animation studio.. and they have a whole "experience" after the movie. $50 is too much, so yeah I went with the $30 tickets. Which means I have to watch it at 9:30.... :P

In the morning or the evening?

As for me, I've decided not to watch the whole thing until it comes to cinemas. Which means waiting till February. Disney UK, I hate you. :(

If you don't want to know song and score titles for fear of knowing anything about the plot, then I'd suggest not reading my post!

Here’s the track list and early artwork for the soundtrack for The Princess And The Frog which released November 24th.

1. Ne-Yo – Never Knew I Needed
2. Anika Noni Rose – Down I New Orleans (Prologue)
3. Dr. John – Down In New Orleans
4. Anika Noni Rose – Almost There
5. Keith David – Friends On The Other Side
6. Anika Noni Rose – Almost There (Reprise)
7. Michael Leon-Wooley, Bruno Campos, and Anika Noni Rose – When We’re Human
8. Jim Cummings – Gonna Take You There (featuring Terrance Simien)
9. Jim Cummings – Ma Belle Evangeline
10. Jenifer Lewis – Dig A Little Deeper (featuring the Pinnacle Gospel Choir)
11. Anika Noni Rose – Down In New Orleans (Finale)
12. Fairy Tale/Going Home – score by Randy Newman
13. I Know This Story – score by Randy Newman
14. The Frog Hunters/Gator Down – score by Randy Newman
15. Tiana’s Bad Dream – score by Randy Newman
16. Ray Laid Low – score by Randy Newman
17. Ray/Mama Odie – score by Randy Newman
18. This Is Gonna Be Good – score by Randy Newman
Are they really putting the pop track as the first song? It is a musical, Disney- you don't need to do that! I can't imagine it being the same (oh wait, yes I can...?), but the Cheetah Girls have a song called "Dig a Little Deeper". While I do like that song, hopefully it'll be a different song we hear on Track 10! I just looked up Terrance Simien, and he's not playing a character, so maybe Ray just needs backup? I'm so excited!!!!!
