Disney's Divinity wrote:How much earlier do soundtracks get released before the film release, usually? I remember buying Frozen long before ever seeing the film in theaters, but maybe my memory's faulty?
As far as I remember, I think one or two weeks earlier, not more.

I was thinking of the same thing yesterday. I think it was 1-2 weeks before the film's release.

Beauty and the Beast (2017) - Trailer

Song(s) / Music:

- First Track: The Hit House - The Rose (Note: This track is a new rendition of both the songs 'Prologue' and 'Beauty and the Beast' ('Tale As Old As Time' seems to be another name for the track here), which were originally composed by Alan Menken.)

- Second Track: The second one is a custom mix by Really Slow Motion. It features their track 'Reborn', remixed here with Alan Menken´s track 'Beauty and the Beast'. This mix doesn't seem to be publicly available. (You can listen to the original version of 'Reborn' though online.)

And this is from Really Slow Motion’s Facebook page:
STOKED to share this after many months of work!! Official trailer of "Beauty and The Beast" featuring our track REBORN remixed with Alan Menken´s "Tale As Old As Time" (0:45-1:48). We are truly honoured to be able to work with such a legendary piece of film history. Thank you so much Disney, Lindsay, and of course the Down Under combo James Minas, Lydia Davies and Blake Robinson!!

So, it seems the music of the trailer isn’t available to download, but you can listen to the track used at the beginning of the trailer, which is the same music featured in the teaser trailer, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=en1KsqnuQVM

And to 'Reborn' by Really Slow Motion here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ca200VOI_I0

EDIT: Someone made this recreation of the trailer's music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wp2Kdrn1nlU

Disney's Divinity wrote:And I’ll throw in: F*** Cinderella. I really do not give two shits about it, I won't be thinking about that trash when I watch this, and any amount of ways you find to nitpick this film for eternity won't stop it from being more successful than Cinderella. :)
Oh, I just realized! Back many years ago when I bashed the original 1991 Beauty and the Beast, I said "F*** Beauty and the Beast", just like you did about Cinderella, for no reason except to bash a masterpiece everyone thought was so great. So that means you saying that just to hurt me confirms that Cinderella is a masterpiece so many think is so great! You've proved it's a masterpiece! You've proved it's not trash at all! So instead of causing me pain, you've caused me to be happy! :float: I love it! And Cinderella will always be more successful to me artistically and as a good film. :)

Thanks for the images Vlad, but they look grainy for some reason?

But with those images I just got how the Beast's outfit matches Belle's in the flowery gold decorations. Good touch!

It could be because they needed to push the iso for their cameras due to low light. Though grain is often used to help sell CG better, or make sure skin doesn't appear too smooth after retouching. Judging from the motion blur they ended up using a slow shutter speed, which would imply it was due to low light.

I was browsing through YouTube, and I found a rendition of "Be Our Guest" from the "Descendants" soundtrack. I've never heard it, but then again, I didn't watch the movie either. But, oh my God, is it bad!      Whoever approved it?!

Thanks for the explaining Kyle. Maybe that was it. I just expected the best HD quality from a film that is really important to Disney.

New still:

And confirmation on Gaston's new background:
"He gets as dark as any Disney character could possibly get", says Gaston himself, Luke Evans. The character, while still comic relief, is also an ex-soldier – there are, according to Evans, several shades to him. "This is a man who, for the first time in his life, hasn't got what he wanted."

I watched the animated movie last night, and I was thinking, how great it would be if they kept the choral reprise of Beauty and the Beast at the end. It would be perfect. We haven't heard a choir at the end of a Disney fairy tale in a long, long time.

Angela Lansbury’s Confused by ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Remake: ‘I Don’t Know Why They’re Doing it’
I don’t quite know why they’re doing it. I can’t understand what they’re going to do with it that will be better than what we’ve already done.

I think that’s a sentiment held in general in regards to all the re-makes. She openly derided the Murder, She Wrote re-make with Octavia Spencer, too, before it was cancelled. (Too bad they didn’t come up with an original concept instead, because Octavia Spencer in a murder mystery week-to-week would’ve been really fun.)
