^Thanks for letting us know,
disneyprincess11! I'm glad these early reactions are positive. I guess the footage these people got to see are not the first 25 minutes of the film, but a summary of the first half of the movie or so, otherwise I don't think Sisu would've had time to not only appear, but to leave an impression on some of them. Here are some more reactions:

I did recognize some of the other voices & not happy about it

Thanks to a new Raya-themed board game, I think we can guess where the territory of each clan is located on the map of Kumandra, which is featured on the board. The Heart Lands (Raya's clan) is towards the bottom left corner, as we can see the doughnut-shaped rock with Raya's palace on top. The land just above it, in which we can also see a palace, is probably Fang, as it seems each clan gets their name from the part of the dragon-shaped sea in which they're located and that one is near the dragon's head. That would mean Raya and Namaari are from neighboring clans. Talon, with its floating markets, must be the land which is more or less in the middle. The territory just above it is probably Spine, and the desert lands on the right are most likely Tail.

Here's a closer look at each land in the order I mentioned them (The Heart Lands, Fang, Talon, Spine and Tail):
And here are also a
magnetic drawing board and a new
book cover.
By the way, yesterday was
press day, so we'll soon be getting new articles about the movie.

^ But that "hardcore" stuff never made it to animation, right? Just storyboards & drawings?

That's what I believe too. But it's a good strategy to promote the film. Nobody was talking much about it, and now I've seen lots of tweets from people who say that they want to see the "R-rated cut" of the movie. I hope it doesn't scare parents, though.

I hope they didn't tone it down too much though. I'd like for this movie to be on the heavy side. Since there's no music to look forward to, I hope the story really hits you hard. It looks like an action film in a lot of ways, so there need to be at least a couple tense fight scenes.
Is it weird that I'm imagining a fight between Raya and Namaari that's similar to the fight between Boseman's and Jordan's characters at the end of Black Panther? Of course, I don't expect Namaari will be that level of a villain, but still.
As for the geography of the film's universe--seeing the land all mapped out like that with the landmarks and everything included, the dragon-shaped sea comes across less ridiculous than I thought it seemed before. Spine, in particular, looks impressive.

Several of the reactions praised the action sequences (like the two below), so I think they haven't toned it down too much.
This is clearly a fantasy action-adventure. Fast, fun, lots of action.
Fight scenes are A+. Reminiscent of #StarWars The Clone Wars/Rebels

I was fortunate enough to screen 30 min of #RayaAndTheLastDragon and hearing this does not surprise me in the slightest. I was floored by the action sequences. Extremely kinetic and realistic. Parts of it reminded me of Mad Max & Anime. People are going to love it.

It could be the version that Paul Briggs and Dean Wellins worked on and the reason why they were replaced.

I have thought of that, too!!

Do you think they'll ever share parts of their version? I mean, we've had other artists and creatives share work that they've done from scrapped versions/movies (like some
Gigantic &
King of the Elves stuff that's popped up online), so maybe in the future they will?!?!

The fact is I'm sure Disney want this to be more mature and action oriented but they still have to avoid the Black Cauldron situation.

I don't know if I should share these things, since they're from magazines you have to pay for. If there's any problem with it, please let me know. Here's the section about
Raya from the March issue of
Empire Magazine:

It didn't occur to me. You could be right about that.

Here's a
close-up of Raya from that last still. I think she looks quite good there.

That looks really great! From that still and from what i'm hearing, this could be a different kind of film than what we've been getting with last few films. It's still going to be family friendly with comedy but perhaps more intense than what they've had the past few years.

• New plot details
(mild spoilers):

• Final version of another book cover:

Apparently, the cover reveals the location of the dragon gem (or maybe the place where it has to be put once its fragments are found and it's complete again). At least it's similar to the design that appeared on that figurine set. It seems to be situated in the middle of the Kumandrian sea, I guess where the heart of the dragon would be. I wonder if it's on an island.

I agree that it looks great. And yes, it seems the tone will be a bit different from what we're used to from Disney.
By the way, since the first full trailer hasn't come out yet and the film's release is little more than a month away, do you guys think there'll be a third and final trailer as well or will the next be the last one?

Who cares about it being allowed?

Thanks for sharing that article!

It`s noteworthy how a skeleton is in that picture.
So it seems like Raya is going to be a sullen character (due to a trauma) who`s going to learn to trust someone again? Well, it confirms why the character seemed to be more serious than her Revival predecessors. And that`s she`s going to have a arc.
