Thanks for posting those pictures I appreicate it. The set looks fantastic to be honest, $150.00 fantastic...I dunno, but none the less it looks great!
To be honest I would def get the set if I knew that Disney would do it for EVERY Diamond Edition. I was so dissapointed when they stopped doing collectors editions for the Platinum Editions. I think they bring prestige, and add a bit of class to their titles.
So if they were consistant, and said yes for every Diamond we will issue a special set you'd bet your dollar I'd get one!

Of course, she called me and we got it all sorted out, but I think Disney really made a bad move on the two different packaging for the film.
This is actually true, because I was in Toys R Us and and least 7 people were like "One says Blu-ray + DVD, the other says DVD + Blu-ray. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?" It was was kind of funny in a sad way.
I had to explain to everyone that the only "difference" was the packaging.

Just went to the Disney store and picked up my copy that I pre-ordered - unfortunately they only had it in the DVD packaging - so I then went to Best Buy to get the Blu-Ray packaging which is what I wanted in the first place. Now I have to throw the other one on Ebay.

Did anyone get a slipcase with the blu-ray packaging? Bought mine at Wal-Mart and didn't come with one. Didn't really look if any other copies there had any slipcases, but I'm checking tomorrow.

Yep, mine came with a slipcover and also noticed that all of the ones at Wal-Mart had slipcovers as well. Maybe your store just got a shipment that didn't have them.

yeah, I did. Walmart tends to take them off and throw them away for some reason. I think the casing they lock it up in cannot fit in with the slipcover. I cannot stand walmart anyway! I rather take my business to target, Toysrus, Best Buy, or any other place besides Walmart! Walmart I only go for a combo pack or a really good sale.

I've heard that "Snow White" is officially out on Blu-Ray/DVD which is the official Diamond Edition. If I have my 2001 Platinum Edition DVD of the same movie, I will not be getting it, because I'm keeping it myself, but it is still good to watch. I prefer the 2001 PE over the new "Diamond Edition" Blu-Ray/DVD, but it is much better than this one which it is now.
I'm not a big fan of Blu-Ray, which I have my PS3 which I can play games, but not watching Blu-Ray movies on there. I have a standard definition TV which plays good on DVD's.
The 2001 Platinum Edition has a bunch of extras which is on disc 2 including the restoration, the original RKO main and end titles which is now being shown on the Diamond Edition, the Platinum Edition has the later main and end titles that I posted these pics about a week and a half ago comparing the original RKO and the Buena Vista versions of the main titles. The 2001 DVD has the BV main titles, the new Diamond Edition has the RKO titles.
My 2 cents would be that I love the Buena Vista titles a lot better than the RKO version, the original RKO version is found on disc 2 in the bonus extras. The 1994 VHS "Masterpiece" edition has the Buena Vista main titles. Both the 1994 VHS and the 2001 Platinum Edition DVD has the 1990 Walt Disney Pictures logo on there, but the new Diamond Edition Blu-Ray/DVD doesn't, but I'm not 100% sure, but it uses the cut-short 2006 Walt Disney Pictures logo after the RKO end title for "Snow White". Same as with "Sleeping Beauty" and "Pinocchio" on previous Platinum Edition DVD releases. The 1994 VHS release has the restoration end credits with the Dolby Stereo logo on the bottom and the silent 1990 Walt Disney Pictures logo after the end title, and the 2001 Platinum Edition DVD has the same thing without the restoration end credits, just the silent 1990 WDP logo after the end title.
I had this "Snow White" Platinum Edition for about 8 years since it came out in 2001 a month after the 9/11 tragedy, but I'm still keeping it in my collection, but I'm not be getting the Blu-Ray/DVD of that same movie. I'll leave it be until I can buy something different than "Snow White" which will be something else.
We'll have to wait until "Dumbo" comes out next year.

Don't hold your breath. The coupon thing just seems to be for re-releases as an incentive for people to re-buy something they already own. I must say, you got a fantastic deal on both Up and Snow White (did they pay you to buy it?).

Good for you! But I'm not be getting it, because I have my 2001 Platinum Edition DVD that I'm still keeping. I'll have to hold on until "Dumbo" will be coming out next year as a Platinum Edition. Just to keep my eyes on this film.

I actually got my blu-ray copy for free today!

I went to Toysrus today, and I forgot that my job had given me a $25 gift card! I had $13 dollars left on it and I used it to the remaining balance. Plus I got a $5 gift card from Toysrus lol. Cannot beat that! I also had a coupon for a free Hot Wheel car too, I got that for my nephew. I will use the Toysrus giftcard to get Tinkerbell on Blu-ray later on this month.

The Platinum Editions are done. Dumbo is just going to be a "Special Edition."

Yup, Pinnochio was the last one.

I got it on DVD however. I think I will just wait for the Diamond Edition Blu-ray. No real reason to have two versions of the movie. I am happy with my DVD copy.
