They aren't any Sherk-isms at all (well, they weren't any in the storybooks anyway).

Also, I have uploaded a lot of pictures from both books (but no text) and I have ziped them into a file since they were many. I've put a link below where you can download them but I must warn you they are FULL of SPOILERS. It can't get any 'spoiler-er'. :)

I'll also try to upload tomorrow the music from the music player that comes with the book. Don't get excited 'cause you can't tell a lot from those sound effect-like midis they put in those things.
Thank you so much! I actually like the overall plot better than Princess and the Frog, hopefully the movie will be as good as I hope. And I love the picture that has Rapunzel with her parents. So cute! :D

P.S could you make a zip file of the images? For those of us with Macs. :)

Divinity, I think it's possible for CGI to look hand-drawn. Enigmawing's image showed me and Glen Keane did once show us CGI could look like a painting, I'm sure you remember the image of her on the swing. I don't see what's so hard about sculpting CGI just like they sculpt the Walt Disney Classics sculptures that capture the characters in form and soul.

I also agree, purple and pink mixed together can be ew, but I also think it is possible to look good. Bluish purple next to pink always look good together. I agree some short haired princesses would be nice. Do you consider Cinderella as short-haired or just Snow White? I consider Cinderella medium length.

I am glad you agree Tiana's green dress (which I also love, an accomplishment of Disney's creativity and design) should not keep Rapunzel from having one. That was like a yellowish green, Rapunzel's could be bluish green.

Oh, and Rapunzel is supposed to be 18! So the fact she looks younger than Ariel is really bad...but I only think she looks young in some images, in others she looks appropriately old enough.
mawnck wrote:While I am rather irked that the whole story is now spoiled (albeit in a skeletal form - there are many wonderful details you still don't know about), it's not like there's no precedent. In fact, Disney used to go out of their way to spoil absolutely everything in the early movies - with books, records, comic strips, radio dramas, etc.

It was a deliberate strategy. They considered it important that children going to see the movies knew everything they were going to see before they saw it.
Is that really true, that you know that's the reason they did it back in Walt's day?

Dear Disney Duster and Tristy,

Thanks for your reply, Disney Duster.

Someday, you may know what I'm talking about, Margos. If I start working on the materials now, the entire world may someday know what I'm talking about...Really, though, it is a story that I'm working with.

It's funny that you should make a "Sunset Blvd." reference, Tristy, because I love the song "With One Look", even though I've never seen either the movie or the musical renditions of the story. Norma Desmond is more than likely a fascinating female villain in some ways...

Thank you in advance for your replies

"Walt Disney Studios has recently provided us with a slew of behind-the-scene photos, character art and concept art for its upcoming release from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Tangled. If that wasn’t enough, we also received a few additional stills, all of which we are pleased to share with you in hi-res format.

First up is some behind-the-scene photos with the voice talent from the film as they work on bringing their animated counterparts to life. Along with co-directors Byron Howard and Nathan Greno, here you’ll find images of Mandy Moore (Rapunzel), Zachary Levi (Flynn Rider), Donna Murphy (Mother Gothel), composer Alan Menken, lyricist Glenn Slater, producer Roy Conli and recording artist Grace Potter (of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals), who wrote a song for the film."

Somehow it would be so cool to see promotional pictures of the actors and actresses standing next to the characters they voice. But alas Dreamworks has taken that over. *sigh*

Disney Duster wrote:Enigmawing, well, I do think the pointy nose fits Rapunzel more, but I find the original size more natural and better. Anyway, your change to the CGI...first, how on Earth did you do that? You and your brilliant, amazing skills! Next, you made me see that it should indeed look more like that. Really, all the eyes would need to be is smaller, but the look of everything is perfectly better. It's what they wanted to do, I'm sure, and should have done. Sigh!
Thanks. :) I used the liquify filter in photoshop to basically push/warp the details of the CG to more closely match the proportions given in the sketch (although I did have to repaint portions of the image). As for the actual CG, I imagine tweaking the forms into something to match the hand-drawn art would be immensely more difficult to pull off.

Woo-hoo! I'm really looking forward to the new trailer tomorrow! :D
