On tumblr and IMB people have been giving Hans the Draco In Leather Pants treatment trying to justify why he let Anna freeze to death and kill Elsa. Just makes me want to facepalm that they think just because they want to look at him in a tragic light because of the fact he is the last born in his family and makes it in their eyes justifiable in emotionally manipulating someone so they can use them to rule the kingdom and then later kill their sibling.

People are going the route he is just misunderstood because of his position in the family and don't really think he was faking everything in order to get close to Anna.They are also making excuses like he is a soldier so he was probably used to death and wasn't put off by Anna dying.They also say he was justified in trying to kill Elsa because he didn't think there was no other way and was looking out for the Arendelle

Anyway, I'm sure Elsa was fine as long as she avoided eating yellow snow . . .

I find it odd how people compare films, especially Disney. Now, I haven't seen Frozen, yet, but it must be one heck of a film to be like Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King. This kind of bugged me with Wreck-it Ralph and how people were calling it similar to that of a Pixar film. Personally I found this to not be the case, Pixar and Disney Animation create very different films, I tend to use Glen Keane's sayings of how like Disney is like 'once upon a time' and Pixar is 'what if' and stuff, and I find that that sums it up really well. I did enjoy Wreck-it Ralph (but after a few more watches I got sick of it, but I never get sick of Tangled for some reason, must be me), personally Wreck-it Ralph is kind of an example that animation artists use to sum up modern animated films, you know underdog character, does something amazing along with friends, family friendly, lots of jokes yadadada. Of course I can't comapre Frozen to this yet as I haven't seen it. Pixar tells stories that feel relatable and heartwarming which I just adore. And that's their thing. Disney tells stories that are meant to be 'classics' and well, Disney films, if you know what I mean. Anyway, I can't wait for Frozen.

It's coping in a sense. Some people really don't like the Hans-being-bad twist, so they try to make him more sympathetic by justifying what he does.

The fact that he doesn't die at the end is a carte blanche for AU fics where he reveals his depressing childhood and falls in love with Elsa.

So after the film is released...

Whenever I hear from people about their opinions about Hans when they saw the movie. The more how I think that he could be the best male Disney villian in quite a while for his fake good guy persona, his swordsmanship, his manipulation on Anna, and the fact that he was going to kill Elsa with his sword makes him a scary villian in a way.

Hans is defiantly one of the scariest Prince Charmless characters I have ever seen. Most Prince Charmless characters are openly nasty and obviously evil. Hans on the other hand is a straight up manipulative sociopath that puts on a good guy act to get his way. I think Hans is a bit more refined and subtle version of Gaston in the fact he has fighting abilities and uses his false nice guy persona to rile the Ardenelle into supporting him against Elsa.

I think someone should draw or write how the other villains would react to Hans. I could probably see the other villains at first not taking Hans seriously because of his false heroic appearance. However, when they find out how sociopathic and manipulative he was they would actually welcome him with open arms. I like to think that new villains get an initiation into the league of Disney villains and are given a title that reflects their evil deeds. Oh, man Hans would fit perfectly as a villain in the Kingdom Of Hearts games and would throw off the protagonists with his ersatz cordial personality. I think his motive if he was in the game would be that he is in cahoots with the top bad guys so he can take over Arendelle.

The new Disney Dreams! of Christmas made its debut last night - has anyone manage to see it with the new Frozen / Olaf sequence?

Yes, the end credits you can see on the screen before it is cut and shows a poster of Frozen, are the actual ones.
Btw, the movie is awesome, saw it last Thursday.
