This info about Aladdin 2 & 3 might explain why Aladdin was replaced by Peter Pan in the Diamond line so they could release all 3 titles on blu at the same time. We may see Aladdin and The Jungle Book in '14.

Bad news. Could it be that they decided to spread they releases and that's why we aren't seeing the old classics?

I'm curious to see what that means for Aladdin 2+3. I believe both are digital so the "restoration" part shouldn't be that big a deal.

I'm particularly annoyed about HoND and Hercules though!

Hunchback is pushed back only in the Middle East, right? U.S. is still getting it in March?

So far it's still on schedule for 3/12 but with Disney you never know. Something is telling me that Atlantis won't be released on 3/12 since it's yet to appear for preorder on amazon like the other 3/12 releases.

I have to admit that aladdin 2 & 3are a guilty pleasure for me to watch now and again, I have to say that storywise we have seen far worse in dtv sequels. If only they had looked as good as lionking 1.5 then that would really make my day😄

Whatever happened to that Australian studio anyway? Are they still going? I agree, that was the only sequel I think truly looked the part of a proper sequel, story aside. The characters were just as on model and fluid as the original if you ask me.

Are you referring to the 2nd or 3rd sequel?

Surely you can't mean King of Thieves?????

I know you can't be talking about Return of Jafar because that one is even worse. Every character looks off model all the time.

I think Kyle is refering to Lion King 1.5, one that He and I both see as a worthy successor at least in terms of animation

Ah, sorry. Yes I agree. The animation in 1.5 is pretty good.

I'm ok with Atlantis coming out on a different date. We are already getting a lot that day.

I'm afraid Disney Animation Australia closed its doors and laid off all its artists and animators on completion of Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time. If you pay close attention to the end credits of the film you will see a sort of "thank you" message to all the staff of the Australia studio for consistently producing "beautiful, hand-drawn animation".

A shame in my opinion. Those artists improved by leaps and bounds from the days of The Return of Jafar. I wish they'd had the opportunity to create their own original animated feature, and not always have to make a sequel to a WDAS film.

It's a shame for it to be the only sequel that won't get a Blu-ray release.
Because the Aladdin sequels are more common than the cancelled TV show turn into a movie, "Belle's Magical World" which majority of people don't like the movie and the animation is way worse than the Aladdin sequels. Also people forget that "Belle's Magical World" even exists.

From what I know Aladdin's Return of Jafar wasn't intended to be the pilot movie for the Aladdin TV show compare to "Stitch! The Movie" which serves the pilot movie for "Lilo & Stitch: The Series". But Aladdin TV show storylines stays after "Return of Jafar" and before "Aladdin and the Kings of Thieves".

I beg to differ. I find the animation in Return of Jafar to be on par with the animation in Belle's Magical World. They are equally pretty horrible animation-wise.

Oh, really? :P
At the time, syndicated half-hour cartoons often premiered with a multi-part story to get kids in the habit of watching the show every day. According to Stones, Disney designed theirs to run as a feature that the stations could promote as a ‘family movie special’ on the Friday night before the series’ premiere.

It's strange to see Aladdin listed on Amazon.fr as of April 2013.. Seeing as there is no sequel news to go with it and that US has not indication of it coming out in 2013? Then again, 101 dalmatians and it's sequel as well as Tarzan have been released months ago in Europe and still no US versions on the Horizon? Disney is becoming less and less consistent and downgrading their products.. Personally I blame management for lack of interest, everyone wants these titles released and in good quality with love and care put into it,and preferrably the same releases on every continent, it just doesn't make sense right? Also no slipcovers.?. Few or no extra's that contribute to the making of ? and please instead of those games no child will play more than once and every adult could care less for, find something of interest to include or don't bother at all!
