Does anyone know if the BatB 3D Blu-ray combo pack will be in Blu-ray or DVD packaging/case?

^Obviously just the BD packaging. I dont really know of many people who would get the DVD packaging unless they wanted continuity in their collection, but the chances of anyone who has BD3D capabilities, or planning to get them, wanting to keep consistent packaging in their collection are small at best.

Disney has released a $5 coupon for Beauty and the Beast 3D:

Just ordered from Amazon. My local Best Buy was all out (which was a bummer, with $5 off coupon it would only be 24.99, great price!), but if you followed my Lion King Diamond Edition drama with Amazon, I got a $10 off credit because my order was delayed so I used that, buying the new BatB 3D for 21.99. I just posted my old 3-disc Diamond Edition to sell for around $12, so it's like I'll have gotten the new BatB for $10. :)

I have the Beauty and the Beast 3D blu-ray. The cover is gorgeous and the glitter doesn't look as daunting as it does in the above picture. The 3D lenticular ballroom looks great.

Very lazy of Disney to not update the Blu-ray guide insert for the 3D Blu-ray re-release. The back still says "Look for new releases in this prestigious collection: Bambi (2011) and The Lion King (2011)", identical to last October's booklet.

I haven't bought the 3D version, but I have the Diamond Edition from last year. While I hated the picture quality, I really enjoyed the new Bonus Features, especially the Beyond Beauty-documentary.

Yes, I remember seeing it at Target when I picked up The Lion King. The Slipcover is really nice.

The 3D (Blu-ray) for Beauty and the Beast is really nice! I sure hope Disney will make 3D versions of 90s-films like Aladdin, Pocahontas, Hunchback and Hercules as well. It might depend on how well Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid will do in theaters and the sale of Disney 3D Blu-rays I suppose.

I watched the film on 3D Blu-ray (went to a relatives' house who has a 3DTV) and I was super impressed with how it looked. There were a couple shots where it looked like I was watching a beautiful shadowbox layered painting, mostly of Belle exploring the castle. Also the ending credits have added character sketches behind the credits to make everything pop more. It was quite beautiful. The last sketch shown is the one of Adam's eyes drawn by Keane right before the dedication to Howard...Not gonna lie, it made me very emotional. It kind of makes me WANT to see what else they can do with 2D to 3D conversions. I'm super excited about The Little Mermaid now.

I'd also like to note that I was kind of indifferent to The Lion King's 3D transfer. I think they did more of a rush job on that than they did with Beauty and the Beast. Glad that The Little Mermaid is not scheduled for release till Fall 2013..no doubt they will need more time to convert that film properly since most of it was pre-caps days.

I saw it in 3D the other day .... it was impressive, yes, but still not 100% needed ?

I am glad that The Lion King has been so successful though; it means for sure that more and more Classic Disney films will be released. I don't mind if they are in 3D or not; it is just a joy to see them in the cinema !

Late as Hell and it cost me almost $30 for a used (but barely so, even still had slipcover) copy, but I finally got it. (In my defense, I only just got a Blu-Ray player this past Christmas and I just didn't have money for a long time to buy Blu-Rays - especially the Disney ones - ahead of time. I'll probably pick up Sleeping Beauty too, even if I have to pay $30-$40 for a used copy again. Those are pretty much the only ones I'd pay out the nose like that for.) I haven't really dived into it yet, but I'd already seen the Blu-Ray's color palette cuz I downloaded the rip off the internet and it was quite nice. Will be great to see it in full 720p. (My TV is 720p. It's small enough 1080p wouldn't make a difference anyway.) I did preview the work-in-progress on the Blu and I'm actually quite disappointed at how tiny the picture-in-picture window is. Would have been better to have it full screen like on the DVD, because seeing a tiny thumbnail in the window doesn't really allow me to appreciate the rough animation, storyboard art, etc. I'm looking forward to really diving into it today and seeing what all is on here to explore.
