I just worry whether or not Disney will just use the sneak peek from the DVD.

Now that we know the significance of the music box, I'm hoping for a shot-by-shot do over of the scene from
TLM2- "Where did you get this...?" ... "I... found it..."
Oh, the potential!

Oh, the potential!

I'm pretty sure the LOCKET that King Triton gives to Melody at her christening is completely different from the MUSIC BOX Ariel and her sisters give to their mother.
That said, I suspect that the locket was shown in the trailer to suggest the music box, though while it's falling from a human ship we my never know, that may have to do with the whole idea people are throwing around about Ariel telling Eric about her begining. I guess she could lose the locket from the ship. Why the ship explodes and our Ariel possibly dies, I don't know...

I'm sorry if this is already posted, but there's a lot of info on here to look through. Amazon has "The Little Mermaid - Ariel's Beginning" for preorder at $19.99, coming out August 26th. Again, sorry if it's a repost, but it's worth reading twice!

I guess that's the music box!
Hmm! I guess that "The Little Mermaid 3" was originally a trailer for that, but it is still on YouTube. This is what it originally looked like.

So in spite of all the critisism, the title was changed and renamed "The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning", good title change, much of the same. But according to IMDb that this movie is schedule for February 2008, but Amazon.com or maybe the official Disney website says that it will be out on DVD by August. Good move for Disney! Let's hope if this one comes out.

Well, for me it looked as if it just pops right out to form the locket. It would certainly take things full circle had it actually been the locket. But... I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Do you think that humans somehow got the music box (maybe when she died it got into a net or something and that's maybe why Triton hate them) and later Ariel finds it? (there's is no why Ariel will die).

Long ago, I found
this storyboard of Ariel on a boat with Eric. Lots of people think Ariel will tell Eric about her beginning, and that shows us the movie. In the the trailer (you can find it on the web site), a ship blows up and a locket falls into the sea, with Ariel singing. If Ariel was on that boat that exploded, she could have died!

This may be what you meant, but I want to make sure you know I only think the locket
in the trailer suggests the music box, but the locket from TLMII is not the same as the music box. Anyway, thank you.

err.. I don't think Ariel dying is very family oriented ... they wanted to have Simba die in Simba's Pride but they nixed it. and purposely left out the fact that Pocahontas dies on the way back to Virginia in Pocahontas II.. besides, doesn't the ship blow up in the first movie ? I think they just used scenes from different movies.

Yes, This is what I mean.
Because they didn't have a image of that Music box they showed the Locket.(I think)

I know about the trailer (i have the PE,yes, the US version) and the story board (i have a feeling it's a fake or it's of an old version of the film) but do you really think that Disney will kill Ariel? (speaking of Ariel-do you like my avater and siggy?).
I also think that the locket is the music box,but... maybe the box was cought in a net (and that's why Triton hate music?) and after the ship exploded the music box fell under the sea and Ariel found that? or maybe insted in the begining Ariel and Eric are walking on the beach and finds the box?.

OH MY GOD. So let's see.
1) Triton & Ariel's sisters are noticeably younger
2) Ariel breaks sneaks through the gate as Melody did
3) Ariel dances with Flounder as Melody did with a turtle
Hmm... not much else I can see, but I know this movie is going to kick ass. The animation is beautiful, the colors are so smooth and this trailer just touched my heart. Thank you so much for sharing,
pick!
