Amazon knows as much as we do about this release right now. The page is basically a placeholder page.

There is a good chance that it will, but its not confirmed. We know basically nothing about this release. People are still unsure if even this release is going to come out when speculated. Especially since this is Disney -_-

Kinda hoping for a press release or an update on the Disney store any day now.
OK, thanks for clearing that up! Time shall tell....

'Home Entertainment News' has a quite different take on the last press release we heard about 4-disc combo pack';

http://www.home-entertainment-news.co.u ... ealed.html

It states at the end that "Another plus is that bonus features for the Blu-ray Disney release will be downloadable via BD-Live, to avoid cluttering up the discs with extras., whereas in the previous bulletin, there were the Classic DVD Extras being put on B.D Live.

If this is the case then I'm very concerned. Again, since the U.S is the only region to have Disney B.D Live available, how could they do this to everyone else? It can't be right, surely.

It's not like there's some technical reason they can't. If they really wanted to it could and judging by the fact that Musicana has been rated for Online by the BBFC then it's a good indication that it's coming.

I don't think there's any reason for concern. That Home Entertainment News report dates from late June, which is when other sources (probably based on the same press release) specifically mentioned the legacy standard definition bonus materials via BD-Live.

First of all, I'm willing to bet money it's only the 'classic DVD' extras that will be on BD-Live. Most Blu-ray players only have 2GB of internal storage or an SD card slot for additional storage. I'm willing to bet that the new feature length Destino doc, in addition to Destino itself, will be in HD (taking up more then 2GB of space). HD extras just take up WAY too much room to be downloadable and they would take WAY too long to load if they streamed them. Not to mention the interactive Shultheis Notebook doesn't sound like a BD-Live extra.

Also, those were not press releases but just members of the press recollecting what they heard at a press gathering in New York City at the end of June where WDHE briefly mentioned their upcoming slate. We still have no official list of extras, number of discs, price point or release date (and we only think we have cover art but can't be sure just yet). We never knew for sure what Fantasia World was and if it's now been cancelled. Less then 3 months until it's supposed release date and we still don't know much about it.

I'm hopping we see a press release soon and that we're still getting ALL of the Fantasia 2006 shorts in HD.

Yeah, I remember being slightly upset about this. I think this was already posted here too.

jpanimation is right, most likely we will see the "classic" bonus features appear on BDlive.

This. This. This.

They can give me absolutely no bonus features and I won't say a word. But please don't deny me those. I was those friggin' shorts!

I don't know where they would have sourced it, but a reviewer on HMV website states that it might be delayed till March 2011 for the U.S market

Here's how I feel: The press release for "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" should be out soon. With that, there should hopefully be an announcement for the "Fantasia" films...

The release date here in Brazil is December 8.

I'd love to see a Fantasia trailer in the theatre (before the main feature). I'd go just to see it, regardless of the film lol!

What I don't get with the new Deems Taylor visual elements is that, if parts of the audio were lost or had deteriorated, how did they know what he actually said to do the over-dub?

I think it's called a "script."

:)

The fact that the combo pack says Fantasia and Fantasia 2010, makes me think that that is just a placeholder image. Or someone did a mindless job making the artwork.

And the Fantasia artwork is nice, and I would be happy with it, but different regions can have different artwork.

Still waiting for press release/Disneydvd.com update.

The Fantasia artwork is the best I've ever seen for the movie. I really like the art, I rank it up with Pinocchio's Platinum cover. Of course, it just says 'Disney' and not 'Walt Disney' above the title. Absolutely no constancy from this company. Also, WTF is Fantasia 2010?

Actually I think the Combo Pack artwork is just a placeholder. Look at the Font - its completely different. :)

What I don't get is, if its a Platinum Edition, why doesn't it say so on the cover? :?
