i just saw a tangled advert on tv for the first time... finally!! its due here in jan i think, but we saw previews at the cinema when we went to ts3, which was june?
Oh gosh I'm seeing Tangled adverts everywhere on Australian TV :D During ad breaks, during programs, during credits, it's wonderful! :D

I think because it was such a success overseas they are more confident and so are pushing it as hard as possible. I don't remember such heavy advertising for a movie before.

Nice to hear that disney is doing all they can to make this movie a succes....

i still haven't seen it, and it's been playing for quite a while here in the netherlands....but unfortunately it's only playing in dutch in my town and i wanted to see an original version of it, well i can wait for the dvd anyway...

btw the marketing with the name changing really stinks, because my nieces didn't want to go to this movie with me(they chose narnia), because they thought it was childish and stupid(and they're girls about an age of 8 :P), so changing a name doesn't make any difference to attracting audience....

Ps. i don't know if u guys found this already, probably did, but this french site has so many excuisit sketches(i want to save them all on my pc, so pretty are they), including some of rapunzel:

i hope it will get the same publicity here. they were pushing harry potter and narnia before christmas and now they are doing gullivers travels and little fockers almost every ad break. either way, i will be going to tangled no matter how many tv ads they give it, whereas i wont go and see the others. [gulliver looks funny, but not funny enough to pay cinema prices.]

Go see it somewhere else! Go see it alone, if you must! None of my friends wanted to go with me, and if it wasn't for my girl, I would've gone alone! (I saw Toy Story 3 alone, as well.) It's definitly worth seeing it on the big screen. You won't regret it.

And, to pap64: I'm glad they decided to focus on Rapunzel and Flynn and not waste too much time on the side characters. I mean, yes, the characters from the Snugling Duckling are very funny, but do we really need to know their backstories? Wouldn't expanding their characters have come at the cost of the development of Rapunzel and Flynn?

I got to go to a preview screening in New Zealand :)
I've been following this movie for over a year, and it was fantastic to go see it in an almost-empty cinema (official release isn't until the 6th of Jan).
It was everything I hope it would be, although it would have been nice to learn more about Gothel and her past.
Menken's music really added to the experience, I can't imagine how different it could be if someone else composed the music.

There was a semi-animated rough storyboard sequence of the opening released by Disney very early in the year. It had a woman narrating, and a track from 'The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe' as background music. This opening had a very brief segment of Gothel and young Rapunzel singing the dropped song "You are my Forever". Does anyone know if this clip is still around?

That is true. I do feel that Flynn and Rapunzel come off as stronger characters than Naveen and Tiana. They were rather one dimensional until near the end. Flynn and Rapunzel, on the other hand, are more complex, showing a lot more emotions and character traits during the course of the movie. Hence why their romance feel more believable then Tiana and Naveen's

But what I mean is that they could have had strong development with Flynn and Punzie and still have a bit more compelling supporting characters. The book shows that so much work and thought put into them (especially the king and queen) for only a brief moment of screen time.

But whatever, I still love the movie.

Ember where on earth did you see that video!! I would love to see it!

I have no idea if that clip is still online, nor did I hear anything about it on UD or any IMDB boards, you said it was released earlier this year?

Anyway, I am terribly interested in seeing this mysterious video as well!

Mother Gothel Goodness!

I recall Rapunzel calling him Pascal right before she starts singing "When Will My Life Begin?"

She says his name 4 times, i believe.

"I guess Pascal's not hiding out here." *when playing hide and seek*
"Oh come on Pascal, it's not that bad." *then when will my life begin*
"Today is a very big day Pascal!" *she's gonna ask mother gothel to see the lights*
"It's allright Pascal." *when Flynn leaves to give the crown to The stabbington brothers, right after I see the light*

and Flynn says his name once too, at the end.
"Pascal never changed."

I know the whole freaking dialogue xD

So Ariel has a green dress now?

Why can't they just give Aurora a green dress? (That could've been Fauna's answer to Flora and Merryweather's back-and-forth with pink and blue.)

In other news, Tangled has passed the $150 million mark in the box office, and has surpassed The Princess and the Frog in worldwide gross.

It's a fan work combo of fanart and clip art. Ariel's dress is just her wedding dress with green shading instead of off-white. Actually, though, Ariel does have her pink dress dyed green now.

Rapunzel trapped into the epic fail that is the Princess line. When will Lasseter finally kill it?

I thought at first that Rapunzel was holding a pumpkin.

Whoever made it should have spaced out the yellow dresses/hair; Belle, Snow White and Rapunzel form a giant yellow blob monster.
