Apparently Alan Oppenheimer is in the movie playing a character called the old timer.

Interesting, I wonder why his character hasn't been officially revealed yet.
In
this article they list some of the new voices that were confirmed at the premiere:
• Juliana Hansen's will voice Wendy (Bonnie's kindergarten teacher). She teased this role on Twitter (on April 27) with a photo of her recording with Josh Cooley.
• Michael Peter Balzary (a.k.a., Flea, the bassist from Red Hot Chili Peppers) will voice another Pixar character. He previously voiced Jake a security guard in Inside Out and now does the voiceover for the Duke Caboom television commercial.
• Melissa Villaseñor will voice a character in Toy Story 4, but she said she voices a secret character and no one would reveal who that is. We'll have to wait and see who she voices.
• Jay Hernandez is confirmed to voice Bonnie's Dad in the film.
• June Squibb will voice the store owner of Second Chance Antiques.
• We had previously known that Maddy McGraw would voice Bonnie, but now we learned that her brother, Jack McGraw will also voice a familiar character in Toy Story 4 — young Andy!

Oh, I didn't remember that character was called Old Timer. I wonder why they've given him a new voice. Does he have a bigger role in this movie than in the TV special?

The positive reception for this doesn’t surprise me a whit. Each installment of the series has improved on its predecessor. I think many people were eager to see TS4 fail; I'm happy they were denied.

Toy Story 4 will be the first Pixar film since A Bug's Life to not feature a short that precedes the film.

Heard about that a few days ago, which really disappoints me. I'd rather they put one of the spark shorts on it than break tradition like this. They probably have shorts they never bothered to release, just use one of those.

It actually got two negative reviews and it's currently at 98% like Toy Story 3.

It's a shame they broke tradition. They definitely have shorts they never released before. For one, there's "To Protect and Serve" from the "Tales from Radiator Springs" short series which was fully finished but never released for some reason.

Oops, you're right. The original Toy Story was the first Pixar film without a short, not A Bug's Life.

It was before ‘Toy Story 2’, if I recall correctly.
