Disappointing, but not surprising.

I've also noticed the tendency for a lot of non-Disney Blu-Rays to be released with a DVD and Digital Copy in the US, but here we just get the vanilla Blu-Ray versions. Maybe I will have to start importing instead full stop...

Kirben wrote:I just phoned Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, and confirmed the local Blu-Ray release of The Incredibles will only be a single disc.

Very disappointing that we will only get a stripped down Blu-Ray release, when Blu-Ray releases of other Pixar titles have matched the overseas versions. Another good reason, not to support the local releases.
I don't see why they can't give as the same version as the other one? Why do we have to have a single disc edition whilst other countries get the two disc... its not very fair on us Aussies.
I think I may import this one...

Just a question, will overseas Disney Blu-Rays, in particular those from the US, work on my PS3 here, or are they region coded and restricted like DVDs? :? Thanks in advance!

It depends on the disc. Recent Disney releases have been region free, but older ones are Region A locked (we are region B).

Check out www.blu-ray.com and search the release you are looking for, they usually tell you which released are region free and which aren't.

While we're on this topic, i've been thinking that I seriously doubt we're ever going to get a Region 4 release of Make Mine Music... Would a Region 1 disc work on a blu-ray player? So in other words, are any region dvd's restricted on Blu-ray players? Or is that dependent on the Blu-Ray Player itself?

It's just that I only need Make Mine Music to finish my collection, I also want to watch it haha.

It's dependent on the blu-ray player :) I seem to remember my ps3 not playing region 3 dvds.

I have noticed that the Aladdin: Musical Masterpiece edition dvd seems to have been discontinued, as most online stores don't have it listed anymore. Any chance that it's making room for a Blu Ray?

About 9 or so volumes of the Adventures of the Gummi Bears were in Coles today for $9 each. I didn't look too closely but they seemed to have about five or six episodes on each disc. Also, I got Alice in Wonderland today for the usual $29 at Target.

So the Adventures of the Gummi Bears was split into 9 discs, as I expected. Which is the biggest local rip off so far, since the Marvel animated series. I wouldn't be surprised if they suffered the same interlacing issues as the DVD releases of Chip 'N' Dale and Ducktales.

I recently saw 2 disc Treasure sets at a Big W. Are these new? They didn't have any DMR points, so I'm not certain, but I'd never seen em before.

Thanks in advance :)

Well I just searched the Big W and Ezy DVD sites and as far as I can make out, the answer is yes and no :D

http://www.bigw.com.au/entertainment/DV ... ing-colour

I think it must be a re-release because the Big W ones have the new coloured classification on them but the Ezy DVD pictures have the old one and a release date of 2004.

It looks like Donald never made it to a volume 2 though. On another note, Disney re-released the first Narnia movie in its two disc DVD set recently with DMR points, but didn't make a fuss of it.
