The Princesses are having much much less to do at the moment I think ? As far as I can tell, there hasn't been any new voice work or anything like that at all, for anyone ? I know Jodi has been everywhere this year, but Ariel herself hasn't spoken since WIR2 .... Like Jennifer Hale used to be used a lot for Cinderella, but just don't think there has been as much / anything for them to do.

The most active I suppose would be Mandy, for Tangled : The Series.

I'm glad that Meg and Esmeralda are getting attention lately with these dolls and their Funkos. Seeing as how I imagine they sold pretty well, maybe this will be the incentive for Disney to start incorporating the girls slowly into the lineup?

The weird Meg/Esme haters will be sooo furious to hear that.

I never really liked Esmeralda, but I don't like Jasmine or Aurora much either. The real reason they took them out all those years ago, imo, is because they wanted to keep the number in the line low. Now that they've reached the point where the line is huge and unwieldy anyway because of new characters Tiana, Rapunzel, Elsa, Anna, Moana, and soon Raya (and not to mention they wanted to add Vanellope, too)--I'd be happy if they reversed that decision and added Megara and Esmeralda back in. Throw in Charlotte, Kida and Lilo, too.

TBH, I wouldn't mind if they added Crysta, Anastasia, and Thumbelina, too, now that they own those films. Do they own Odette from The Swan Princess yet? No joke, I'd love to have more merchandise of her. I always loved Odette's dress.

Yeah and it's a real shame because Jodi, Paige, Linda, and Mandy could easily have returned for the new Disney Princess candy crush app game. It really feels like something is missing without their voices.

What would you say if the haters I was mentioning instead have a boner for Aurora? Something how she's perfect for being feminine and skinny and blonde and white and submissive and sweet unlike those "slutty rude and cynical" Meg and Esmeralda...Who happen to react like normal human beings to bad things, oh the horror. If you're a woman you're not allowed to react badly to things according to these fans I guess. Because it's "rude" to stand up to manipulative and oppressive figures I guess.

So strange to me. I barely think of Aurora as a character at all, she's that devoid of personality.

Those haters you mentioned are just a handful of people though. Besides them, generally I haven't encountered people who have issues with Meg or Esmeralda, although the latter gets targeted by racists sometimes.

at first I thought thedisneyspirit might be referring to 4chan which is full of incels but Meg and Esmeralda actually have fans there, though there's always that one stupid "gypsy trash!" poster but I never take them seriously. For the most part the Renaissance and post Renaissance gals are popular there and Rapunzel has a HUGE following there thanks to the tv show and even Alice and the Disney Fairies have a small following as well. There was an Aurora thread the other day but I didn't have time to check it out so I have no idea how most feel about her or the other Walt era gals aside from Alice.

There are a few Aurora hardcore fans on Fanpop but generally she's not super popular there. Most Fanpop users casually like her and don't hate her but she's not high on their lists. The same goes for Anna. Elsa tends to be highly divided because people either adore her or absolutely hate her. Merida as well to a lesser extent.

Esmeralda and Meg don't get brought up that much but both seem generally well-liked even if considered bad fits for the DP line (which I don't believe at all myself). I have encountered the troll Esmeralda haters (and Jasmine haters) but they really were a minority luckily and whenever comments like that were made, pretty much everyone else would instantly stifle the hate. I remember one time, somebody made a remark about Pocahontas' outfit and how it was "as good as what native people could get." You better believe that most of Fanpop immediately shut that user down for his/her bigoted and ethnocentric comment.

I haven't bothered much with Fanpop since before Ariel's casting so I'm not aware of the discourse about her being black now. From what you've said, yikes!

I shift the avatars out by color mostly. Sometimes I choose them by whatever's relevant on any given day, like when TLM or Frozen news has been posted. At least I found something to say about Aurora today.

There are Pocahontas and Merida icons from Ralph Breaks the Internet, too, actually, but I left them off to keep my banner as short as i could. Plus, I didn't want to include a PIXAR character. And that would've left one off to the side by itself, so I decided to cut Pocahontas because she had the least colorful icon. She has long hair, too, but you wouldn't be able to tell with the drawing they made. Maybe I'll start to use them, too. Sorry, I went off on a tangent.

Thanks unprincess! You know, these Disney Designer dolls are really special, and it's awesome that finally you have a really great piece of merchandise for your favorite Disney character (right?)! There's so little merchandise of her, but now you have this really beautiful doll of her in one of the better Masquerade outfits!

^thanks! yep I just had to have her as Ive wanted Disney Store to make a doll of her for so long. Its true, there's been so little merch of her for such a long time but only last year there's been some new stuff including the Funko Pop, ornament, t- shirt and the Colorpop makeup stuff. I have the Pop and the ornament and hope to see more stuff for her and the other underrepresented Disney heroines/princesses made in the future.

I didn't even know Fanpop had a forum(discussion board? chatroom?) Ive only ever run into that site while looking for Disney images. It sounds as bad as 4chan! and they dont want a black girl playing Ariel but want her to have big boobs/butt? That makes NO sense.

Fanpop doesn't really have a forum or any boards. Discussion comes from comments on polls and articles and on the main wall of each page. It's nowhere near as bad as 4chan imo but there are a lot of ridiculous trolls.

b/c at my age I dont think I can pull off wearing cartoon character shirts anymore.

Oh. LOL. Well, I'm a grown man and I would do that depending on how the cartoon character is presented. I saw an Ariel on an anchor shirt intended for teens and men at a store one time. I have a Cinderella original poster shirt.

Besides work clothes (and I wear Disney coats to work), my whole wardrobe besides jeans and some shoes is Disney. #noshame Wear what makes you happy!!!

Cracked out the ol' Disney Princess Christmas album this morning ... such a shame they don't do recordings like that any more ! Would be awesome for sure.
