I agree about Watson. She's not bad looking but she doesn't have that mature sophisticated beauty that Belle does. I would have preferably cast someone like Eleanor Tomlinson (Poldark) for the role.

You guys never complained the live-action Cinderella needed gloves...

Wow, great finding Sotiris, thank you! I think you didn't get this one word right, though, so I changed it to what I believe is right (in bold):
Sotiris wrote:
...in our hearts and always will
Minutes turn to hours, days to years, then gone
When all else has been forgotten, still our song lives on

How does a moment last forever, how does our happiness endure,
through the darkest of our troubles,
Love is beauty, love is pure
Love pays no mind to desolation, it flows like a river through the soul,
protects, prevails, and perseveres,
It makes us whole

Minutes turn to hours, days to years, then gone.
but when all else has been forgotten, still our song lives on
That's how a moment lasts forever,
when our song lives on.
I am not a fan of the song, lyrics or melody-wise, but it is not bad, either.
disneyprincess11 wrote:Gorgeous! Thanks for the find! I'm guessing that this is Belle's song where A Change in Me would take place.
If this was supposed to be where "A Change in Me" was, I would rather "A Change in Me", but the lyrics don't sound like it is a replacement for that song.

Sotiris wrote:I don't think so. The song for the objects is called "Days in the Sun" and the song for the Beast is "Forever More". I'm not sure where this one would fit exactly but it sounds like an end credits song to me.
You're probably right; I could see them creating an end credit song. That would be the only way they could have Belle and Beast actually sing together (outside of "Something There," which is really just their brief thoughts) if they didn't have it happen just before the credits roll--and I'd prefer the "Beauty and the Beast" choral reprise right there.
I would rather it was a song before the Beast died but I agree they should use the "Beauty and the Beast" choral reprise for the end, unless they feel that would make it too similar to the original, which it might. I don't want it to just be an end credits song, though. Then it's not like they really wrote a new song to be in the actual film itself.
unprincess wrote:looks like theyre trying to make the dress that modern teen girls/young women would like to wear. Something that doesnt look too frilly and old fashioned...or maybe the dress will have a CGI effect later on in the film(shudder).

I dunno about the beast. I guess he does look like the one in the film. Wish he hadnt been a CGI effect though, I would've preferred a made up actor. Geez, first CGI replaces hand-drawn animation, then practical effects, now looks like its replacing make up as well.
I like the Beast! But as for the dress, I agree that could be the case. Did you know, they made the live-action Cinderella blue dress into a prom dress teen girls and young women could wear?
Prince Edward wrote:Belle's yellow dress looks plain and boring, not at all what I would have imagined. Like a prom dress really. Hope they'll fix it by adding something extra. And she needs gloves. Her hair is also a bit to plain/modern when she wears the yellow dress. (I can see the wish - allthough not the need - for a different dress design than in the animated film, but live action Cinderella at least gave their lead a more impressive dress and great hair as well.) I guess Watson seems okay as Belle in her blue outfit.

Don't think the Beast looks good at all, but have to reserve my final verdict untill we see more photos/trailers.

I have never liked the idea of having Watson playing Belle and still don't, she does not look the part and she is not any good at acting. Belle should look like a more mature woman (Belle, Aurora, Cinderella, Pocahontas all seem more adult than they actually are), and Watson have that young girl next door look in my opinion (like Ariel, Snow White). Had she not been a known actress I don't think she would have stood a chance of getting this role by open audition, she basicly got it because she is a famous young woman with similar hair color as the animated Belle. Wish Disney would have cast someone not as well known but more fitting in this role, like they did in live action Cinderella.
I quite agree except I don't feel Belle needs gloves, I'm ok with no gloves. Cinderella got no gloves and turned out lovely. I don't know if Emma will be a bad choice. I don't think looks should matter too much for casting, but just because she is not mature-looking beautiful doesn't mean she isn't a beauty! Let's see if she acts the part well. I think she could.

PG. Of course. Even Cinderella was PG and that one really could have been G. These PG ratings are probably to get older kids to want to see it.

I kinda expected it to be rated PG. The Beast in the animated movie wasn't scary at all, but I think this one will be, based on the promotional artwork we saw a few weeks ago.

Well, I've become sort of ok with Belle's yellow dress for this film, since plain is better than bad, I guess, but I thought I'd try to do a more detailed, but different, version of Belle's dress for the film. I wanted it to be beautiful and also call back to the original, but also be a little more historically accurate. So I gave her the elbow-length sleeves with ruffles they had in the 1700's. Not sure her neckline or skirt would be accurate, but maybe. I also tried to make her hair more beautiful and do more with it. I also re-decorated the Beast's outfit since I didn't like how they did that one, either. So here you go, tell me what you think, and be brutal. And yes, I know I drew Emma Watson's face bad:

I love it! But I disagree with you, in this case plain is bad. I'm not pleased with Belle's dress in the movie at all right now.

I absolutely love your versions!! I love love love the addition of the roses- foreshadowing/backshadowing (?) to the enchanted rose...the dress is from the castle, so it makes sense that the one to break the spell would wear roses!!

At least the dress appears to have some sort of layers, but it's still really plain. It needs gloves or sleeves imo, just to add something to what is already very bare. And I still hate her hair here and the yellow color.

i know the word 'hate' is strong but i hate it.
i was hoping to see something more like the costumes in Mirror Mirror.
her dress here looks like a rented prom dress.

This picture looks much better than the last one. No, not as great as the animated film, but I have a feeling the... I guess you'd call them pleats wouldn't have looked as nicely in real life as they do in animated form, I don't know. Safer to go with something simple and basic than end up with something overdone, and I do like the designs at the bottom that go with the Beast's outfit and the layers/back of the dress. Now I'm only hoping, like someone else said, they decide to give her gloves before they finish filming.

I wouldn't be surprised if they might've tried doing something closer to the dress from the animated film and it didn't work, sort of like the logo went through several versions before they settled on something basic, too. Sorry, I do like the dress. At least there's nothing gaudy about it.

In other words, according to the BWW Forums, "Days in the Sun" and that "People remember us" songs have been cut from the final film. It is just the Beast's song

Hopefully they'll at least be included as bonus tracks on the soundtrack....

I wonder if they'll reinstate the musical songs like Human Again. Probably not though.

Whats the point if it's basically just the songs from the original?

Sigh.

They cut the songs from the musical to add new songs just so they could cut almost all of them.
Very well done.
