I hope someone else does too.

My stupid manager made me stay half an hour over...

Is this the ONLY night they're doing it?

The stupid freakin' thing won't even load for me!!!! I've been trying for the past 52 minutes. Apparently, I'm not the only one. Didn't the website know that it would be getting lots of hits tonight???

This sucks. I've been waiting for this night for a really, really long time, and now I'm just dissapointed.

It was IMPOSSIBLE for me to get on, but I finally did through the link on playbill.com, so try that.

PS: I think Trevor Braun is playing Flounder on the soundtrack. He's good, but I like JJ better. Technically, Trevor isn't apart of the original cast anyway, so that annoys me a bit... but he's still good.

"Sweet Child" is next and "Poor Unfortunate Souls" is next.

Thomas J, me too!!!!!!! It started working for me once playbill.com posted the lyrics, and I went through the website from there.

I got in when "Poor Unfortunate Souls" was ending. I'm really dissapointed that I missed all of Act One, but I guess this is better than nothing.

Right now, it's intermission and Glenn Slater is being interviewed.

I got in half way into 'I Want the Good Times Back' which I liked but want to hear it all. I'm not sure if I'll like it as must as 'Wasting Away' and I dont like her saying Damn but I'm loving this so far.

I'm loving it too.

I got so jealous when they did the intermission interviews with Jodi Benson, Pat Carroll, and John Tartaglia (who I saw as Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast). I know there were others interviewed, but those three are awesome.

I wish I could go!

But now it's being funky on me. :(

Yeah, they have a list of all of the songs/new songs/cut songs in the wikipedia article:

Well, it does not say things like how the 'Poor Unfortunate Souls (reprise)' is not that same as the one from the demo or takes place in another place. OR that 'If Only' was mixed with the 'Sebastian reprise' and new Triton stuff and adding a 'Triton Reprise' that was not on the demo.

Yeah, lots of things were changed between the demo and what we have now.

It's over now, and I'm impressed with Act Two. I would have loved to hear Act One, but I guess I'll have to wait for that.

Wow that was a late night (gone 4am!) but so worth it!

I had problems getting in as well, spent nearly 30 minutes trying to get in via playbill radio (started about 1:45am, show started at 2am). Finally got in via playbill's main page as Human Stuff was ending.

It was even better than I remember it (I still prefer the Denver opening night ending, but this was much better than what it was cut to second time I saw it). If Only just gets more beautiful, I love the new lyrics to it!

Here's a link to a blog that has all the songs up for download (says interviews are to follow, I hope so as I really want Menken playing the piano and singing Positoovity!

Enjoy!

What ever happened to the "Her Voice" Reprise sung by Ursula? Did they decided to drop it at the last minute?

It's on the track listing combined with The Contest.

My best guess would be that they forgot to air it before they played The Contest and it's still in. When Lux comes back from New York I'm sure he'll confirm whether or not it's in for us.

Thanks for posting that link, ChrisLyne!

I must say I'm impressed by Sierra and Norm. They really bring a lot of heart to their parts and it works very well.
But, I'm very disappointed by Sherie and, er, the guy playing Sebastian. As for Sherie, I don't think it's her fault. They changed the character and made her more of a cabaret-type singer. Ursula is Disney's most theatrical vilainess and I'm very much saddened by how they made her into this bland, non-appealing (at least to me) character. Not really Sherie's fault, but Ursula just doesn't work in the musical.
The Sebastian-guy tries too hard to make his accent work, which actually makes it distracting. I found it very annoying and it really stood out in some places, taking me out of the song and replacing any other emotion with annoyance.

As a whole, I'm neither disappointed nor impressed by the recordings. I knew what to expect and I got it. Too bad I didn't expect much... It's just not my kind of musical, I guess ^^

Thanks for the link. Some of the songs sound better and some not as good as before, but nevertheless the overall experience is quite good and has the charm Menken and the singers bring into the songs. I would've wished a bit fuller orchestral sound for the recording, but it's nevertheless sufficient enough to entertain and support the singers. Some of the changes to the songs are distracting when I already got used to the previous versions as far as melodic lines and lyrics go, but it's interesting to hear different takes on the same material. I can't wait to get my hands on the cast recording. :)
