It may not be a huge improvement but we really don't know what the new release will be like but knowing that there will be another release so soon I would wait.

Wow, 5 pages to this thread?
Anyway, I'd hold off on Star Wars until the fall. There will be a definitive collection of all six films jam-packed, so if you purchase anything now and are a true fan of the movies you'll be tempted to double-dip in November. That's why I say it's smart to just be patient a bit longer.
I just bought the Indy Box Set using a Blockbuster Gift card and I'm very happy w/ that purchase. I paid a bit more technically, although I did usea gift card. But as others have stated you can find some good deals out there on that Set.

To help us get back on topic after the slipcover fiasco, I just finished the Star Wars Trilogy bonus disc and it was excellent. Alan, if you like documentaries, the one on this set is nothing short of amazing. I don't think this bonus disc will be included in the 6-movie set later this year, so I don't know what to tell you. I guess I'd wait for both. The prices for Star Wars are bound to drop after Revenge of the Sith runs it's course, and Indiana Jones' price will probably just keep dropping. Heck, I went to one store to get the Back to the Future trilogy and they only had it in fullscreen for $50.00, but later that day at another store, I found the widescreen version for $23.00. But if you don't want to wait, I guess you could buy the original trilogy now, which has that awesome bonus disc, and just buy the prequel trilogy later this year.

If I were you, I'd get Star Wars, but It's me. Plus, if you listen to me, your listening to (according to Lazario) a freak! Who wouldn't like to take advice from a freak? Plus, the Empire of Dreams documentary is worth the price for the whole set!
Oh, and as for saying that it's the movie that counts, and not the packaging. I agree whole heartedly on that. But, I guarantee that if a movie was sold in a clear case with no cover, insert, slipcover, nothing but the disc, it would sell less than a different movie with a cover, insert, and slipcover.

Well, it depends on which kind of action you like. If you like sci-fi action, Star Wars should be right up your alley. If you like ancient ruins and temple type stuff, go for Indiana Jones. I don't really have an opinion of which is better overall, because both are classics and provide a good deal of entertainment.

It depends on each movie. Personally, Raiders of the Lost Ark got my attention more than A New Hope but the fifth and sixth episodes of Star Wars are really cool. I haven't seen the other two Indiana Jones movies.

Alan-----Actually, I didn't think of this earlier when I posted, but if you're looking to see which movie trilogy is the better of the two, look at my first post on the first page of this thread. You should find reviews of the movies and the DVDs of the movies. They should provide a great deal of help for you to decide.

...Except most of it's info on new projects is provided by fans, who have no idea if what they're posting is true or not.

Yeah that's true but it's still a better resource than most sites, besides I gave him the link for Star Wars and Indiana Jones so I don't think he'll have any false information there.

You're right, he shouldn't have any problems on those pages. Even with some of the crazy fan info, it is a very good site, I agree. It's on my favorites list. I like BCDB also (Big Cartoon Database). Since we all like Disney, it's an excellent info site and I haven't been able to find any false info yet.

Oh yes,
http://www.bcdb.com/ is a great site too and it's not as bland as it used to be. (Their newer logo helps)
I can certainly spend hours and hours on that site.

I think Star Wars is better DVD wise and movie wise. I agree Empire of Dreams is the best documentary ever! As for Indiana Jones the DVD is pretty disappointing, it just needed more! It doesn't even have commentaries!
But for movies Indiana Jones is great too but it's not as entertaining as Star Wars. Even though Raiders of the Lost Ark couldn't have been better, the second one was awful and the third was good but no Raiders. All the Star Wars movies(except Phantom Menace) were great!

It took me a minute to understand the first part of that properly, but I'm glad you made a decision. I Hope you enjoy the DVDs. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

I thought you never saw IJ?
Contragulations on your choice, either way would've been a great decision. You just made the better decision!

I believe in another thread he said he had seen Indiana Jones but it had been a long time.
