I don't have a Costco membership but I think I can talk my uncle into letting me use his card. Or better yet, talk him into taking me to Costco and getting Dumbo there for cheap.

Well, the DVD was really worth it, unless you consider the fact that there are rummors that a new, improved release of this title will released in the future, the picture quality could have been better, but the extras were superb, so I guess $21.99 seems pretty acceptable for this DVD, when I, stupidly, bought it for $29.99.

The rumor could be false the only reason we get DVD to see the movie not the extras. Yes, $30.00 is very expensive.

Welcome to the board, KAI.
I don't know about waiting for the SE. I only just bought the one that is out now, and it is pretty good. The commentary and the docos alone make it worth the price, and it looks a treat. In fact, I'm really not sure what more they could put on a SE. Is there a wealth of LD features not previously available? A quick scan of the 'net didn't reveal anything that looked all that impressive, but might be wrong. Where there any Disneyland episodes dedicated to it? There is the Walt intro on the current DVD, so I'm guessing it was only an edited version on TV...
Anyways, having recently purchased I highly recommend getting it if you can afford it.

I have it and think its fine. If you like Dumbo I say go for it. The SE probally won't be out for a couple of years at least at this point.

Just to throw in my 2 cents, I think that the existing Dumbo DVD looks magnificent in picture quality. It was digitally remastered, and with all the bonus features, it kind of all ready is a special edition.
By the way, this DVD which was released in 2001, has a preview for Dumbo II, and Dumbo II is not listed on the upcoming releases for UltimateDisney.com. What happened? Did the project get scrapped?

Yes, it did the story plot was weak so they closed down production from it.
It got delayed so many times it just got drop.
Very sad news.

I think the Dumbo DVD is practically a special edition as it is.
Quote: "Is there a wealth of LD features not previously available?"
The laserdisc versions of Dumbo that I know of have no extras at all.

Most often than none, a scrapping of a sequel is a good thing, not bad. Plus, if they acutally think of something good, you might see a dumbo II!

GET IT FOR SURE! You never know when we will see it again. You know how Disney likes to delay or scrap the idea all togeather.

I'm not a member of Disney Movie club. I think I'll just shell out the 21.99 at Blockbuster. Maybe if my friend is working there, he'll let me use his employee discount. I can't get Dumbo today because I'm not in Arizona right now, I'm in California getting ready to meet JC Chasez. Yes I'm a teenybopper!
