I mean it's not surprising, this trilogy has gone out of its way to spit on the face of the original characters in order to prop up the new Disney OCs.
The only thing looking forward is all the dumb pairings the fandom goes crazy over will be annihilated (Reylo and FinnPoe).

I'm really not sure how I feel about Leia's ending. I guess it makes total sense to have her pass away, but it just feels so sad. She had a life of battles & war, her husband she grew estranged from then passed away, Ben Solo and what happened to him ... just feels like a sad ending to such an epic character ? Unless I'm reading too much into it due to Carrie actually dying, maybe that could be mingled in there as well.
I'm so glad that helped you! If you or anyone else ever wants any more information on the leaks so far, please feel free to just ask. I know there's a lot of content out there and it's difficult to sift through all of it.
TBH, I was very upset about Leia's ending at first as well. There were rumors that Leia would die as far back as the first teaser's release because Oscar Isaac accidentally leaked in an interview that all the characters will have to deal with the loss of Leia. At the time I hoped that he really was just referring to the fact that Carrie had passed away so she wasn't there to film with them, but it does seem like Leia will in fact meet her end in this film. It felt insensitive to her family and her fans all over the world to kill her off after we've already experienced her death once, and I think a lot of us were hoping that one of the original trilogy's trio would survive till the end.
However, I've warmed up to Leia's passing because it does seem like she'll be brought back as a force ghost soon after and may or may not play a pivotal role in the climax along with Luke. In that sense, she hasn't really left us and still serves as the heart of the film, since my biggest fear was that she'd end up just having an impactless cameo in the film that was always meant to be hers. On top of that, even if she did remain alive, she would be all alone without any of her family, whereas after joining another plane of existence, she can be reunited with Luke, Han, and presumably Ben if he dies as well. So I can see why this might be the most powerful ending for her after all.

I think it is a really really tricky situation with regards to Leia isn't it ? Every which way it happens, there will be double meanings behind everything.
I'm glad that you have come to be peaceful with it though

I think I'm doubling up on what my emotions are for Leia with Carrie ... the two are totally tangled up.
I would love for Leia to live, if I'm thinking about it honestly. She survived all the odds, and is still here. That's what I would regard as a great ending to her character, in my opinion.
Do you think they will ever release what the original story was meant to be with regards to her arc ? I know it was supposed to be her movie this time, but I wonder if that will be a closely guarded secret, never to be revealed.

My emotions were as tangled up as yours were a while ago so I can understand the confusion. It's hard to differentiate between Carrie and Leia.
https://www.starwars.com/news/resistanc ... ve-excerpt
One of the new books, Resistance Reborn, which is described as Episode 8.5 and leads up to TROS after TLJ, features a new excerpt between Rey and Leia.
It talks about how Leia has been suffering from her space injuries in TLJ so I think they'll use that to explain her passing away.
I think they'll probably release more information on that some time after the film has been released and the hype is down. Maybe if there's ever a comprehensive making of book for the film or the entire sequel trilogy.

Individual pictures of the characters on trading cards. Plus a gorgeous piece of art chronicling the entire ST.

Why Does ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ Merchandise Have Rose Purposely Removed from Images?
https://www.slashfilm.com/rose-missing- ... rchandise/
I would think that maybe Rose's part in TRoS is hidden until after the film comes out, and she'll be in the 2nd wave of merch, but of they had already released concept art if the merch with her on it...

I don't think it's a case of her being held back because of spoilers unfortunately. However, I did click on the Twitter links included and some posters have said that a lot of the Rose merchandise still exists. Also a lot of early posters didn't feature her and were recently edited to include her. It seems like the official products based on those posters were already created before Rose was edited in so that's likely why she's missing as well.
It does seem as though they're making an effort to include Rose now but she was absent in early marketing and promotion which seems to have carried over to the initial products.

Why would they have left her out from the beginning, then? Rose + Kelly Marie just can't catch a break.

The good news is that #WheresRose has been trending on Twitter and people are noticing. Fans have been reaching out and some retailers are already promising to add Rose back onto T-Shirts.

New Kylo Ren poster. I love the homage to Vader and hope we see more of a connection to Vader's mask in the final film.

Trailer will probably be on October 21 since that's Carrie Fisher's birthday. Ticket pre-sales have started to leak online and should begin soon as well. Movie's runtime has been indicated to be about 2 hours and 35 minutes (155 min) as of now.

The only thing looking forward is all the dumb pairings the fandom goes crazy over will be annihilated (Reylo and FinnPoe).
You know that a lot has happened in the thirty years between the ending of Return of the Jedi and the beginning of The Force Awakens to shape the original trilogy characters into what they are now, right?

I honestly don't understand this narrow-minded mentality that characters need to be the exact same people they were 30 years ago. And there's plenty of articles out there that offer substantial evidence that Luke was not OOC in TLJ. I'm so glad we didn't get what the fanbois wanted which was for him to eliminate the entire First Order with one hand gesture.

Two images of the final act have leaked. Between these images and the trailer, the previously posted leak outline definitely appears to be accurate or mostly accurate.
