Digital Cinema Package. It's the digital file they use for films at cinemas.
Hold the phone, where’d you even see it?

My country has a chain of theaters that has this events where they screen Disney Princess films each Saturday, its only five films and one time only - two weeks ago they screened The Little Mermaid, which I wrote in the film's thread that the DCP was the same as the 2013 Diamond Edition with the edit errors fixed and no black lines. Last week they screened Cinderella, this weel Beauty and the Beast, next week - Tangled and a week afterwards - Moana, but I have no intention to go see these since the films will be exactly like they are in the bluray.

I hope we get the version you saw as the last home video release, too. Trying not to hijack the thread, but how did Cinderella look?

Oh. Ok well thanks for answering.
EDIT: Forgive me, but you said in the Cinderella Discussion:
farerb wrote:I have a question - I know that sometimes Disney screen films at local theaters and such and I was wondering if anyone has seen Cinderella and can tell what the DCP looks like and if it resembles the blu ray? I know that Beauty and the Beast has a DCP that looks nothing like the blu ray and I was wondering if Cinderella might be the same case.
So, if you were curious what it looked like, why didn't you go see it?

I didn't find an answer anywhere so I thought it probably looked the same as the Diamond/Platinum. I remembered someone saying he saw BatB at theaters for its 25th Anniversary here or at bluray.com so I wanted to check it out. I think that's because BatB and TLM had new DCPs prepared for their rereleases in 2011, 2013. Cinderella didn't have any new theatrical rereleases so I had to guess the last time they worked on the film was back in 2005.

I can't believe the movie turns 30 this year. I still remember the first time I saw it. My mom and dad got me the VHS copy when I was a kid. I remember watching it, and kept asking "Where is the Beast?" after the prologue. It was the first ever VHS tape I ever owned, and I worned it out watching it so many times, until one day it didn't work anymore. I was so happy to get a brand-new, sealed copy on ebay a few years ago. I got it for $2, and with shipping, it was $9. I am keeping it sealed, but I love to have it in my collection. Plus, I loved the cover art.

Okay, I don’t know if this goes here, but I watched the movie for the first time on 4K UHD Blu-Ray and I really enjoyed it. At times, the colors looked pretty darn close to the original theatrical colors. Even though it’s the theatrical cut, for some reason, they haven’t reverted the original shot of the “I’ll tell you when you’re older” scene. (Go figure. They can do that for theatrical re-releases, but not on home media.

)
Another thing I noticed is that they reinstated the voices for Lumiere, Cogsworth and Mrs. Potts when they come rushing onto the balcony to witness Belle talking with a dying Beast.

I am glad the colors are so close to the original version and the voices of the objects on the balconey are back (I didn't know they were removed), but alas I am still so miffed they can't restore the "I'll tell you when you're older" line! >:(

I think the 4K version is a beauty, (pun intended

) but it's so weird that they decided to keep the Special Edition ending shot in "Something There". It's so awkward seeing Lumière and Fifi getting ready to close the door, only to go to the shot of the Beast taking a bath.

I’m so used to the “Human Again” sequence being in the film, it feels slightly jarring to see the “theatrical” edition transition from “Something There” to the Beast taking a bath.

I'm not even sure why they were removed in the Diamond and Signature releases.
