I like both but I prefer Tangled.

Doesn't matter. The point is the lack of respect at not asking or even notifying. I feel it's a violation of the right to freedom of expression. And the question was not which do you prefer, but rather which is the better film in terms of story, strength, music, etc.thelittleursula wrote:Angeldude98 wrote:You know, I really hate it when someone just takes a thread and merges it with another just because it is on the same subject.
It was the same question though.
Tangled VS Frozen, what do you prefer.
The question can only be answered subjectively, based on one's individual opinions, which are informed by one's preferences.Angeldude98 wrote:The point is the lack of respect at not asking or even notifying. Methinks you need to get off your high horse. It's not that big of a deal.Angeldude98 wrote:Doesn't matter. The point is the lack of respect at not asking or even notifying. When I have an idea for a post, I don't want to waste time searching hundreds of pages to see if someone posted something similar. I want to post it right away before it slips my mind. But if a thread needs to be moved or merged, there should be a requirement to ask or at least notify the author beforehand with a reasonable explanation for the move (and a link to the earlier similar thread so it can be checked out). Just doing it like that is arbitrary and disrespectful.

Think so? Well, to me it is. Forums are suppossed to be a place where you can express yourself freely, and apparently they're not because people move your stuff around without even asksing you. And from what I saw on the Feedback forum, I'm definitely not the only one who is irked by this.
if this were your forum, you could run it anyway you liked. It’s not. A mod made the decision that a poll thread asking for a vote between the two films was not dissimilar from a conversation about why one film could be considered better than the other. No one has prevented you from expressing yourself, either about the films *or* about the decision to merge the threads.Angeldude98 wrote:Forums are suppossed to be a place where you can express yourself freely, and apparently they're not because people move your stuff around without even asksing you. ...that's simply incorrect.censoring or moving/merging/deleting your threads or posts in any way is totally in clear violation of your Constitutional right to freedom of expression!!!
Thank you Disney's Divinity! I appreciate that! Like I said, I'm not the only one that is bugged by this. I saw other upset posts in the Feedback forum regarding this same issue. Some people here are just WAY too rude. And mods or no mods, I still believe threads should not be moved without the consent of the authors of said threads. I'm not against moving or merging. I'm against it being done without my consent or input on the matter. At least Wikipedia gives you a suggestion that an article should be merged with another. Why can't the same thing be applied here and let the authors make that desicion?Disney's Divinity wrote:I don't see anything wrong with merging the threads, but I can understand why Angeldude might be upset at the same time, so there's no need to be brutal about it.
I'll meet you halfway and say mods should inform a user that their post/ thread had been moved, but they don't necessarily need consent. Like on reddit, mods will inform you if a post has been deleted but they won't ask you to do so. It protects against spammers, so I've been told.Angeldude98 wrote:Thank you Disney's Divinity! I would prefer to be asked for consent, but I guess I can live with that, as long as they at least give you a valid reason.Warm Regards wrote: I'll meet you halfway and say mods should inform a user that their post/ thread had been moved, but they don't necessarily need consent. Well, I appreciate that in the future you will alert us, though personally, I like the Wikipedia model better where they suggest that articles be merged and don't just do it on their own. As for the rest, I firmly stand for what I believe in and I have a right to express what I want to express without being rudely belittled by others.Escapay wrote:As the moderator in question who did merge the threads, I was merely performing my duties and following the forum Rules & Guidelines, which all members agree to follow when they sign up for accounts here. The rules clearly state: #1: Before creating a new thread, you are encouraged and expected to first search for an existing thread on the same topic. If relevant, it may be better to add on to this existing thread than starting a new one. Duplicate threads add clutter.
I do admit that I neglected to leave any post alerting members of the merged threads. That was my fault, and I know next time to let members know. For that, I apologize.
HOWEVER, I do take umbrage with the belief that simply because a thought may escape someone, they need not search for a previous thread. We have a Search Option that is not too confusing to use. In the past, I've encouraged members to use it so that they need not create thread after thread after thread simply so that their fleeting thoughts may be gathered on the first page. We have rules here for a reason; they're meant to be followed, not flaunted off with claims for freedom of expression.
I would say more, but I'm about to go to Magic Kingdom to meet friends so we can ride the recently re-opened from refurb Splash Mountain.

I think it happened when quite alot of people mentioned that they preferred Tangled over Frozen.Atlantica wrote:I've mention it before, but this topic made me think about it again; why must we compare these two films in particular? As they are the last two princess films?
I don't think any two films have been compared so much in Disney history.
