This was my point all the time. I posted this last year and the years before that. I'm glad you finally notice it. Too bad a version of TSITS was necessary to wake people up at "this point".

Edit: Some people. Others still seem to have double standards. Hate the one and love the other with the same issue.

I wasn't around 8 years ago, but I certainly dont remember laughing last year. The changes on Cinderella were self evident.

Another "positive" review of the SitS's video transfer.

So you hate this:

And you love this:

Hmmm

And people laughed when I said Disney's restorations were more like them using MS Paint to paint over the films...

The colors might be off but the gain in sharpness is amazing! I don't mind it at all. Looks good on my TV I wish they would have washed out the little mermaid too :) I like how it is by there some scenes in TLM the needed some clarity. TSITS is just a hot mess no sharpness what so ever.

WOW, what a horrible transfer! :( :( :(
I couldn't even watch the movie, I had to turn it off!

Amazon has the 45th Anniversary DVD for sale for $22.43, is it really worth getting? I already own the Gold Classic Collection DVD, is there really much of a differences? :?

But I am really upset with the Blu-ray it looks horrible. I am thinking about calling and complaining about it. They really need to fix this! They should offer replacement discs as well.

I know I am late but I just checked it out today lol. :D

MickeyMouseboy, I can't believe you don't see how the details are completely missing from Cinderella's arms and dress in the restoration! That's a HORRIBLE restoration!

The Sword in the Stone and Cinderella restorations are both about the same in horribleness, except Cinderella has the added bit of color changing.

yeah thats bad...you cant see the linework of Cinderella's dress folds in the restored version. SITS, there are no words, its a blurry mess!

No, I own the Scandinavian release, and it looks terrible.

I created a small comparison for DVDPlaza.fi between an old DVD and the Blu-ray. Unfortunately I cannot post the comparison here (again) because the screenshots are slightly too wide. Click on the word “Spoiler” to view the images there.

The new framing is simply awful, and the sharpness of the image looks artificial and unnatural. I’ll write a complaint to Disney as well.

I wonder if Cinderella's transfer will get fixed as well for the signature edition and The Lion King's missing clouds.

That's a really good question!

I would recommend writing a letter. Nobody takes e-mail seriously. A clearly written and signed letter weighs more heavily than a dozen hasty e-mail messages quickly scribbled, quickly discarded.

(I hope I don’t have to cite the address of The Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment here.)
