I am still agog at how crap this looks, and how Disney can let it be released. Such a shame.

Considering this had the full Platinum treatment a few years ago, to then be shoved together with a poor sequel is just not on.

What's bad about providing boxed sets?

Yeah, they'd look better packaged in a box set like the Cinderella Trilogy.

Well for me (not that I collect the sequels anyway) but if I did, for purely superfical reasons ... It looks better when they are boxed separately within a case (like Cinderella) rather than sharing the same cover with one release (it looks kinda cheap).

Exactly, that is how I feel. Yes, it is all good and well packaging them together, but how it has been done looks extremely cheap.

There are ways and means of doing things; this is not one of them. Having them in a boxed set would be much more preferable.

The Pocahontas and Rescuers Blu sets were done much better than this. Though I still do not agree with DTV getting the same billing as a Classic.

My thoughts exactly. Take Fantasia for example...



The composition of the UK Box Set looks so much better despite sharing the cover with characters from both the sequel as well as it's predecessor (like Pocahontas, The Rescuers, Cinderella II & III etc.) it still looks like full scale cover art in it's own right (if that makes sense), compared to the image on the right where both films are packaged together and are literally cropped from the image of the individual Fantasia release and stacked above, while pasting Fantasia 2000 underneath. One thing I will say is at least Fantasia gave you the option to purchase in either a box set or together in 1 joint release but I don't think the 101 Dalmatians has even done that.

Hopefully the Aladdin and The Little Mermaid trilogies will get something like this...

Oh my goodness, the Beauty and the Beast trilogy is beyond awful .....

TLK/TLM & Cinderella are what I'm talking about! Those boxsets are lovely, using classic imagery. It's basically a large slipcover, encasing 3 films...it can't be more expensive to produce, surely?

I wonder why Beauty and the Beast didnt get a nice trilogy this time round on Blu, like TLK ?

Wow how pretty! I love the Digipacks, though I don't think Disney has done that much in the US. The only one I can think of is my Hannah Montana seasons 1 and 4 DVDs. The Cinderella book in the upcoming Diamond Edition Collector's Box Set looks pretty similar though.

Why cant that be done by *any* american studio!?

You have always slipcovers, sometimes more bonus features, than the rest of the world (The Incredibles, Avengers, countless DVDs), still included DVD copies with your Blu-rays and even blu-rays/ DVDs of many films, which are apparently not profitable enough, to get them released in the rest of the world (Some Disney Treasures, Winnie the Pooh BD etc). On top of that, you have still the cheapest prices and many coupons, which are taken for granted by now.

The US is only ONE country of manys, in which Disney releases its films on Blu-ray/ DVD. So, there might be situations, where another country get a slightly better version. That doesn't change that most of the time you get the best versions. You are that accustomed to this, that you don't even see it anymore. Again- one of aprox. 200 countries get SOMETIMES a better version = "boohoo Disney Burbank sucks"???
Maybe you should start to see, there isn't only the US and the 'others' and how often another country gets screwed before it might get a better version, for which it customers have to pay the triple price of yours.
If you are willing to pay this price, than there is no problem for you, as you can easily import any Disney film (they are always english friendly)- if not, stop complaining for god's sake.

I really ought to know better by now but a part of me thought there would be a certain amount of uniformity when they introduced the numbered spines. I guess not.
