Ugh...CGI, really?!

Well it had the potential up to this point.

So, just because it is CGI means it had suddenly lost it's potential?

Well for who it is aimed for, it looks sweet and wholesome. I will be having a look just to see what it is all about and see how they incorporate the other Princesses.

Agreed. My daughter is 3 years old and she will absolutely love this.

Will I enjoy it? Probably not. I don't enjoy Handy Manny or Jake and the Neverland Pirates that much but any time there's a new special for either of those shows, it's like a national holiday in my household.

When we went to WDW last year, she and my son were beside themselves that they got to meet Jake and Handy Manny. They keep asking to go back to WDW.

My daughter also loved BRAVE. She must ask every other day if we can go see it again (I think she's seen it four times and she's absolutely terrified each time but can't seem to get enough of it).

So while these type of programs aren't the greatest, I like them for what they are: feeder programs for the next generation of Disney fans. Which my kids are quickly becoming.

Your daughter sounds great and cute.She reminds me of my adopted sister's daughters.Its too bad I don't see them that often because then I could have an excuse to get them Princess Tiana merchandise as presents.The oldest is eight and the youngiest is three.And yes an nineteen going on twenty year old has nieces.And man are they growing up before my eyes.

I can tell you I defianlty would persuade them to see this show if they have a TV in their apartment.

Is it weird/sad/pathetic that I, a supposedly grown man, would watch this just for the Disney cameos?

But in all seriousness, I am honestly getting tired of the whole "CG is the evil" crap. Yes, I miss hand drawn animation, and should be used more in addition to stop motion animation. But at this point, it is clearly that CG animation has become the mainstay of modern animation. What we should be focusing on is if the medium is being used well or not. Bad hand drawn animation exists because it is hand drawn, it is bad because the medium was bad. There are beautiful stop motion pieces, while there are really awful ones. And such, bad CG exists alongside the beautiful ones.

It all lies in how the animators are willing to push the medium forward. We can prefer 2D, of course, but we really should stop the whole bias against CG animation. You can bet that the minute someone invents a new animation medium, and it becomes people, people will complaining about how CG was better than it.

In this case, it's not being used well. This is a preschool show with a limited budget and it shows a lot because it's in CG. Had they used 2D animation which is equally cheap, like in the recent preschool show 'Jake and the Never Land Pirates', the end result would have been much more aesthetically pleasing.

Well for what it is, I think it looks lovely.

And I will be watching for the cameos.

Cinderella looks lovely!

And for a positive about her hair ... to me, the hairband/hairpiece actually makes sense now ! I know Duster has explained it time and time again, but still sat oddly with me, with it seemingly being attached to her ears.

Her face might as well be any CGI rendered barbie doll. Looks nothing like Cinderella to me.

But that could be just me.

I have to disagree with this. Just because it's centered around children doesn't mean that they can be lazy or slack with story or the animation. They deserve quality entertainment too.

They don't have the time or money maybe? Besides, this isn't even about Cinderella anyway, she's only in a cameo. And from what we have seen, she is still instantly recognisable as herself.

The premise for the series seems solid; we can only hope it is well written. I mean, I adored Ariel's Undersea Adventures, but the animation in that varied wildly on a weekly basis. I know the mediums are different, but you see my point, no?
