I mean, most people, besides the teen crowd who are actually fans of the artist, probably show indifference towards the video, and hardcore fans/collectors are kind of turned off by them, or so it seems.

I don't really care that they are on there, and don't usually go seeking them out, but I could see how someone trying to butcher a classic song would be grating!
It's cross-promotion, using the DVD to sell the Disney Channel and the craptastc Disney record label. Believe me, they know adult fans don't care about the videos, or are irritated by them.

"Love is a Song" is my favorite song from a Disney film, followed by "Baia" from Three Caballeros. To each their own.

I enjoy this film; but it isnt a Disney picture, for me, that I can watch over and over again. Once in a while serves me well :)

Interesting to see what they come up with for the Diamond Edition though; the Platinum seemed pretty packed !

What I dont get is, when Disney say in the trailers and such, 'Newly discovered in the Disney Vaults ....' ???!!! Seems to me that these vaults need a damn good spring clean as undiscovered bits and bobs are always turning up ! Lets just have one thorough clean out Disney, eh ?!

But then again, they need to find something new within the Disney vaults every few years so that they can easily sell their films to needy fans. So just a spot of dusting will do them fine, frankly.

It's not so much the space or time it takes up that I dislike, merely the money in the budget that it eats up. That money could've been used towards interviewing more people for documentaries, or licencing out relevant material that they don't have themselves.

For example, there's several great Jell-O commercials featuring the Alice in Wonderland characters and I don't know who owns the rights to them (either Jell-O or Disney, or both). For the Blu-Ray next year, if a portion of the budget for producing the supplements had to go to either licencing out the Jell-O commercials or a new music video (perhaps DCCOS singing "All in The Golden Afternoon"), I'd rather that money go towards Jell-O. There's always room for Jell-O. ;)

Another great example is the Peter Pan Platinum Edition. Two music videos were commissioned for it ("Never Land" by Paige O'Hara and "The Second Star to the Right" by T-Squad), and I personally would've dropped the latter and used that portion of the budget to interview a few more people and pay for at least one additional featurette (beyond the measly three that were included).

The same thing goes for Games. That's just budget money that diehard fans would rather see go to Backstage Disney material.

Unfortunately, Disney doesn't cater to diehard fans. They have to cater to everyone. So, whilst Bambi's Platinum was the odd (but welcome) exception to the rule for Platinums, I have a feeling it'll most definitely have a music video on the Diamond. They'll figure out some way to promote (insert Disney Channel kid), even if it's a rap version of "Little April Showers".

A spot of dusting sounds more like what their transfers need. You know, to Marky them up and be truer to VHS and laserdisc.

I love those commercials, along with the Peter Pan peanut butter commercials and the Br'er Rabbit AC commercials. That would be awesome if they could get the rights to those.

And here are just some of the bonus features:

*Bridgit Mendler of Disney Channel's Good Luck Charlie sings "Little April Showers" in an all new music video!
*Watch the movie like never before and play along with "Fandub" mode! Pick a part, and then follow the words on screen. You'll soon think you're Bambi, Thumper or perhaps even Friend Owl!
*Never before seen deleted scene: Watch out for that wasp!
*Alternate ending: The Forest rises against the hunters
*A sneak preview of Thumper, the first in an exciting new series of computer animated Disney Bunnies films, coming exclusively to Disney Blu-Ray and DVD!

Is everyone excited yet? :D

Maybe this is why the 4th tink movie is being pushed back to 2012. I wonder why we haven't heard anything about it till now?

I'm also really really really excited for this BD! When the PE came out I watched it twice in a row because I was so stunned by how wonderful it looked! It'll only get better on blu! :D

:jawdrop:

I never thought I'd see the day when such a graphic deleted scene would finally be included! I had only read about how Bambi was nearly stung by a wasp and its deadly little stinger ended up giving an allergic reaction to Mr. Thumper's Dad instead.

Praise Disney! At last they have the balls to release something so shocking and violent!

You got your information wrong, Wondy. They're actually going to make a Disney Butterflies franchise, focusing on the butterfly that lands on Bambi's tail then flies away. She must have LOADS of stories worth telling in a series of DTV films!

Not 100% sure if this has been posted under this topic, but the booklet from my Toy Story 3 BD says that the Bambi DE is coming this March! I know we knew it was this spring, but I don't think we knew the month yet...
