Really, really exciting if this is true! A new Disney classic on Blu-ray is always great, but Aladdin is among my top 5 Disney films and Disney's greatest success until The Lion King. It was the most successfull movie in cinemas in 1992. I wonder why it sold so badly when it was released on DVD in 2004... Perhaps because it had not been released since it's VHS-release after the original theatrical release?

I wish Disney would release Aladdin in 3D as well, but a regular Blu-ray will also be great. This is a beautiful film with breathtaking and epic animation and backgrounds, and to see it in HD will be awesome!^^

I would love it if this were true, but hasn't Disney already announced that Lady and the Tramp is slated for March 2012 and Cinderella is for October 2012? At least if Aladdin was considered a Platinum/Diamond edition release they only do two per year.

Aladdin is not part of the Diamond Edition line.
Makes sense for a 20th Anniversary release. Very excited.

I wonder how it is going to improve upon the excellent HDTV rip that's available on the net. Same for Pocahontas :?:

Yeah what kind of a question is that anyway. Of course it's going to be better than a HD broadcast rip.

The PE has some solid bonus features. Especially the doc on Alan Menken.

Well, for me, it's not that obvious. Since that HDTV rip, despite being a broadcast rip, is stunningly sharp and clear. If the Blu Ray is gonna look even better, than great, I'm buying it anyway. Geez.

Aladdin was on ABC Family last night, did anyone catch it? I was watching it on an older TV in the basement of my house (since my dad was watching a football game on our HDTV upstairs) so I couldn't tell for sure if it was HD or not.

Yes it was HD, it airs on tv in HD all the time, both on ABC Family and the Disney channel.

the New Cover (:

I would immediately call "FAKE," but with Disney you never know. I wouldn't be surprised if they just started cropping old clipart together.

Most definitely fan-made. It's so obvious.

Great fanmade cover though! I will hate sideways lettering forever but I really like how the Lady and the Tramp cover feels "roomy" and isn't crowded up with every character. Hoping that becomes a trend and leads to classy Disney home video covers, like this lovely Aladdin one here. :)

The Beauty and the Beast one makes me nervous, I'm scared Belle and the Beast are going to step on the enchanted objects.

One Reason I can tell it's not Disney's Cover art, is because it looks too good to be Disney's cover art. If it looks good, it's a wonderful fan art as of (insert number of movies or years months etc here). If it looks totally crap for the Cover art, than it is Disney's doing... That's logic now a days....

Excuse me, I need to express myself with an emote of how illogical that sounds, and even crazier that it's true :brick:

It looks terrible so yeah.

And the reason I can tell it's fake is because Aladdin is not in the Diamond line. So there.

Nice try

The covers are fan-made because:

1) Aladdin is not part of the 'Diamond Edition' line.

2) Aladdin was not converted in 3D (therefore there wouldn't be a Blu-ray 3D release)

3) The golden border for the Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Disc combo pack is taken from the recently revealed cover of Lady and the Tramp.
