Aaron: And now, it's time for Site DVD Review of the Year. The past year saw not only a greater number of reviews done, but also a branching out to non-Disney materials as well. UltimateDisney.com has grown to now include sister site DVDizzy.com and our review count has now reached over 700! Can you imagine the amount of man-hours put into each and every review? That's truly a testament to the dedication and work ethic of the site's reviewers.
And through it all, at the heart of most reviews is that stalwart devotion to Disney, the one that truly "started it all" here at UltimateDisney.com/DVDizzy.com. Maybe that explains why six of the eight nominations are for Disney DVDs! And what a fine array of nominations they are...
101 Dalmatians: Platinum Edition by Luke - proof in the pudding that the Platinum line still has "it"...even though "it" isn't as great as we thought it was.
Enchanted by Luke - a high-quality movie gets only a so-so quality DVD release, but the review more than makes up for it (and maybe a Target bonus disc does too).
The Jungle Book: Platinum Edition by Luke - the subject of much controversy due to not the theatrical matting, but the lack of a trailer! What? Who wrote this on the teleprompter...
(Aaron goes off for awhile.)
Sorry about that guys. I just learned that Escapay tampered with the teleprompter to continue his tirade against Disney no longer including trailers (101 Dalmatians excepted).
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: Friendship Edition by Aaron Wallace - even if this doesn't get "Site DVD Review of the Year", it does get the award for "Lamest Edition Name To Come From Disney Since Cheetahlicious Edition"
Raiders of the Lost Ark (The Adventure Collection) by Kelvin Cedeno - you're never too young or too old to appreciate a good dose of good ole Indy Jones. And what better way to start than at the beginning?
Ratatouille by Luke - a case where it's NOT spelled the same way it sounds. Thank goodness the merits of the movie make viewers overlook the shoddiness of the bonus features.
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street - 2-Disc Special Edition by Aaron Wallace - ever since Pirates of the Caribbean, Johnny Depp has become quite synonymous with Disney and Disney fans. So it's no surprise that his umpteenth collaboration with Tim Burton gets recognition in this category as well! (Oh and the movie's pretty awesome too).
Walt Disney Treasures - The Adventures of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit by Luke - about frickin' time, if you ask me.
And the Golden Mickey goes to...
