Well I'm sure fans of The Black Cauldron are ecstatic. Myself, I do like it but I'll wait and see if its worth getting again, other then if it has a nice shiny slip cover(and an all new game!). Amy's going to be happy

If we get the transfer used on the non-region one release (I think it was the french release, but I honestly can't remember) I'll buy it. The reason I don't watch TBC more often is because it's just too difficult to watch.
Hopefully it'll be loaded with special features including the deleted scenes...
Yeah, I'll keep dreaming.

Aren't you asking a little much? C'mon, now, a shiny slip cover and a Taran's Magical Adventure game will totally be worth another $20! Right? Riiight? Oh yeah...
no.
But you certainly summed up Disney's current 'special edition' policy well. Let's hope that Lilo and this are wonderful re-releases, and the new Oliver re-release is the last of Disney's cheapo re-releases as we move into the age of Blu.

Part of me is absolutely thrilled (yay, the movie will get some recognition), but part of me is bummed, since a new game and slipcover are likely to be the only new things (besides a transfer, or it being anamorphic or something) on the DVD- they're probably going to wait until it gets released on Blu-ray to put the juicy stuff on as bonus features. And I'm not planning on upgrading to Blu-ray. Darn you, Disney!
It'd be amazing if it had a nice documentary, at the very least (I can hope about the deleted footage, but I'm not necessarily expecting it)...then I'd rebuy it. I won't rebuy it just for a game, though...unless it's the coolest DVD game ever. Which I doubt.
But, all in all, yay for it being recognized.

Yeah, I'm glad the film is at least getting recognition. I'd call this one of Disney's top 5 forgotten titles out of their 51 classics.

I'm really happy for this too, I'm still hoping that it would get released on bluray, but if they won't announce it on Blu then I guess I'll just get the DVD for the time being coz the GC version is really crappy.

Same here about the Blu.
I really want to get rid of the GC DVDs cause they look funky with all the other DVDs on my shelf.
BTW, I love your new signature!

I like it too, Jack. Ahh, title cards are an artform all their own!

I just hope it would catch BVHE's attention, Scaps told me that they're actually registered here.

I'll be replacing my Gold Collection DVD definitely. I don't know if anyone had the same problem but there is an annoying white dashed line that appears on the left side of the screen. Can't wait for the new release.

and it goes to show my prediction is correct.if hercules does sprung up this year then i'll be doggoned.

I will pick this one up, because I don't own it on DVD yet. But there will be nothing 'special' about this edition, I'm sure. We should sue Disney over calling it 'special', it's deceiving consumers.

Unless there is an extensive array of bonus content, I'll just wait for the Blu-Ray release.

I myself will not be happy if Disney decides to be a bunch of ripoff artists with this upcoming release. Otherwise, I will sue them.

If this is true, I'll probably buy it just to have it in my collection. Ideally I'd love to have own all the Disney Animated Classics one day. However, I am not very excited about the release, seeing how this is one my my least favorite Disney films.

Look, let's not kid ourselves. We're not going to get super deluxe DVD version. We're going to get the old DVD with a new game and a slipcover. If the transfer's fine, I'll frankly take it. The non-anamorphic one sucks.
