I don't think I could ever say what my favourite film is, simply because I love so many films, it would be unfair to place them above others.
I usually say The Godfather because it is great, and sounds good if I pick one.
Back to the Future and Ghostbusters were childhood favourites - 15 years or so ago I would have said that they were my favourite films. They would both make my Top 10 quite easily today.
The Star Wars Trilogy is alway going to be up there, with Empire Strikes Back way out in front.
Horror films are big favourite of mine, with Dawn of the Dead being king (both versions). Other notable horror films I like include The Shining, Evil Dead 2, Psycho, The Wicker Man and of course, Halloween. There are so many though, it would be impossible for me to name my favourite horror film, let alone favourite film!
Then there are westerns, of which Once Upon A Time in the West is the greatest, and A Fistful of Dollars a close second.
Musicals and comedies rank high for me, with Singin' in the Rain and Moulin Rouge being stand-out musicals, and The Blues Brothers, Groundhog Day and anything with Bill Murray or Will Ferrell being stand-outs.
Then there is the Disney/animation category, which also has so many it would be unfair to name one favourite: The Little Mermaid, Lilo & Stitch, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
Then there are 'classics'... it just goes on!
So while I won't say what my favourite film is, because I don't have one, a loose list would include all of the above and more. In fact, I found it hard just picking my favourite genre films, let alone one "all time" great film. As it stands, I've left out heaps...
