Wow, I really feel like I'm in the minority here. I, personally, love the cover. The only thing I would change is what MadonnasManOne already said: shrink Peter and Tink.

I'm positive it'll be tweaked. It just seems they slapped on all those logos as quickly as they could once the artwork was done.

Here are the features confirmed so far for those who missed it on the front page:

* "In Walt's Words" (newly-discovered footage of the studio's namesake explaining why he made Peter Pan)
* "You Can Fly: The Making of Peter Pan"
* "The Peter Pan Story" 1952 Featurette
* Deleted Songs
* Multi-level Camp Never Land Set-top Games
* Tinker Bell Sneak Peek

Obviously there's more to come. I'm just disappointed that they didn't do a new "making of" for this release. Hopefully they kept the commentary track. If they didn't, then Disney better have edited those interviews into the featurette since the commentary was made up of outtakes to begin with. Otherwise, Peter Pan's going to be the Platinum with the shallowest "making of." I'm a little worried that the Disney Christmas special hasn't been mentioned, yet. You'd think that'd be a big enough feature to announce on the get-go.

I actually quite like that cover. Peter looks a bit evil mind :P .

Peter looks strange on the cover art. Perhaps it's those eyelashes (they seem to be exceptionally long) that make him look especially girly. I hope they change that...

I agree with previous posts that there needs to be a more expansive view of neverland.

The size of the characters doesn't bother me too much, but that's just me.

What is up with Disney's cover art lately? Why are they drawing 2D material as if they were CGI-ified? I mean, first it was Fox and the Hound, then Robin Hood, and now Peter Pan!

If Peter's head were smaller and Tink was smaller as well, I could tolerate it.

I'm hoping they also change the font for "Peter Pan". Something more reminiscent of its VHS releases.

I personally am too excited for the PE to hate the artwork.
i agree that Peter's head needs to be smaller. I do like having all the characters on the cover, though.
I wish the main color was green, though, and not blue...
They also need to take Tink out of the main focus, too.

And I agree with Escapay, I wish the logo looked more like the one used in the PE trailer from TLM.

But, SO EXCITED!!!

PS i love the second star to the right :D

That's funny. The cover art will definitley be corrected. Disney never sent out proper cover art either for The Little Mermaid that had the proper spine picture of Ariel. Look at the one on here and the one they actually released.

Wow, that was FAST! :o

I don't really get the hate for the cover. It's following the theme of the other covers with the lead character large and in the center, with the supporting characters around him/her. I like it. Can't wait! 8)

I think its a pretty good cover actually. I dont know what all the fuss is about but to each his own. and what did someone mean when they said they wish disney made a new making of? is this one the one that was on the french 2 disc set and everything or was it on the single disc special edition we got awhile ago in america?

I don't like the cover too much either. Especially Peter himself, no offence, but his eyes look kind of asian. His eyes are just waaaaay off model!!!
I do like Tink bing so big though. I love Tinkerbell!!! :D

that artwork is HORRIBLE! It relies too much on other PE cover arts. Funny thing is that young kid looks like he is going to collide with the sword. :lol:

I think if...

- Hook, Smee and the Darling children were taken out of the bootom,
- and the Never Land coast and Jolly Roger were brought into bigger focus,
- and Peter's head was moved over to the left,
- and Tink was removed from sitting on the logo and was pictured flying around it instead,
- and the Darling children were seen flying, silouhetted (sp?) around the stars next to Peter's head,

...the cover would look much cooler.
Oh, and, they should use the logo from the sneak peek menu of FatH 25AE.

They've been doing this ever since the Gold Classic and Platinum Collections debuted. Covers as early as 2000 and 2001 have that same CG painting-looking style. It makes me wonder what approach they'll take when they start all over again for Blu-Ray.

Looking at the cover again, making the Platinum banner gold is a bad idea. Silver goes better with the blue color scheme and silver logo. I agree that the old logo would be better, but this new one doesn't bother me much. Most of Disney's new DVD logos have been fairly simple, and at least this is better than the essentially Times New Roman font for Lady and the Tramp.

his face...

his face on the cover art kinda reminds me of the scene where he's at wendy, john and michaels bedroom window because he appears dark at first when tinker bell gets closer to his face. overall i like the cover art, a few steps up from the special edition in 2003. i look forward to this release since i never got to buy the SE.

Did you realize how similar Cindy III and Peter Pan cover art look?!
You could exchange their heads and practically have the same cover. :lol:

Am I the only one here who likes the art? I agree with perhaps some proportional adjustments, but the CGI look really works for the covers in my opinion. I hate most CGI effects and substitution, but for recent Disney DVD covers, I think it works well. Of course it would be cool to work in some more art connecting it to the film itself, but I mean, the new Robin Hood and Fox and the Hound covers are gorgeous!!! As for Peter Pan, I also find it interesting that it has "2-Disc Platinum Edition" as the subtitle rather than the SE banner we're used to, but, as we all know, anything could change between now and March.

I think the cover art is okay. Except for one thing... What is the deal with Hook & Smee?! They look terrible! They should be altered a little bit, like they finally did with Lady & the Tramp (remember the drunk looking Trusty?).

It looks like the DVD will have some of the old features from the Special Edition from 2002.

Looks like the artwork is okay average the only thing I didn't like was the way Disney drew Peter Pan.

Other then that it's okay.
But why is the top golden???

I think the cover is alright, they just need to tweak a few parts of it.

First, make Peter's head and Tinkerbell smaller. Second, something about the kids flying isn't right. I think they should all fly facing one direction. Lastly, Captain Hook should have an angry face expression, not a scared one.

The more I look at it, the more I like it. If you look at the artwork from far away, you can see that Peter's torso and arms continue under the logo better. It makes his head seem smaller. Which is good.
I just really hope disney pulls a FatH2 on us and changes the color scheme to green/gold. That way, the banner at the top would work.

And the logo's font looks like that of The Santa Clause 3, IMO...the original is so much better.

GREEN!

Wow, why does everyone hate the cover art? I like it a lot. But just like everyone else, I think Peter's head could be smaller.
