Tolkien is mentioned a couple of times, but is never really focused on.

The difference really was 7 minutes and entails nothing at all substantial.

I picked up my copy yesterday and it looks BEAUTIFUL. I am really excited to re-watch the film and see the new scenes that didn't make the theatrical cut. It looks like a lot of the bonus material is stuff that was featured on the 2-disc realease from April. I am looking forward to watching disc 3 as well with all the information on C.S. Lewis.

That is cool :) I am glad that they talk about Tolkien a little bit. When I started this thread I did not think about the fact that it was allready the tuesday that this dvd is coming out :earsguy: Anyways I ordered my copy from amazon and it should be coming to my house very soon :)

They would just mention Tolkien, they wouldn't focus on him since it's Narnia not LOTR or The Hobbit. Just like if it was an animated Hobbit or w/e they would mention Lewis and their friendship etc.

Booklet

Does anyone know what is up with the booklet that is supposed to be included? The set is nice but seems kinda lame having this hole where the booklet should go. Has anyone contacted Disney to see if they were gonna be remedying the problem and mailing out booklets to consumers?

you know, I have the 2 DISC Edition, but I am ALMOST tempted to buy this 4 DISC edition just for the CS Lewis biography-type film.

Of course that's why I bought LOTR:Extended Editions for all 3 LOTR films - for all the extra stuff and the extended scenes that were added. (Even though I owned LOTR Theatrical editions).

The booklet was mentioned in the review, and you can see what it looks like on the back of the case. It also mentions, "Enjoy an in'depth companion guidebook"

I had to send my set back, but not becaue of a missing booklet ( I did not even know about that ) , but because one of the dvds was scratched. I do believe mine had a guide booklet myself. I think it was a booklet that comes in most dvds that tells you what is on this dvd edtion, but I am not sure. I might contact disney about this.

I checked the website on amazon and it says these come with the 4 disc set Collectible 10-page companion guide
Certificate of authenticity. I just got my replacement and not only did I not get these, but disc 3 is scratched again.

I am about to just return it to amazon for a full refund. I am getting sick of this. I plan to call that number on the dvd disc and tell Disney what is going on. I don't know if this is an error on amazon or Disney ? Did Disney just forget to send in the booklet companion guide to amazon and other people. I am also going to have amazon call me.

I called Disney about the 10-page companion guide

I called Diseny and I used the toll free number that they put on their dvd disc. That number is 1-800-723-4763 in case anyone wants to know. I talked to a cast member about the Collectible 10-page companion guide
Certificate of authenticity. The Certificate is only for those who purchased the gift set. So I am not sure why amazon had that on their website under there 4 disc set by itself ?

But as for the Collectible 10-page companion guide that should come with both the 4 disc set by itself and the 4 disc set with the gift box. Disney is going to mail me my Collectible 10-page companion guide to make sure that I get it. As for the disc if they are still scratched when I get my next replacment Disney said they will send me a prepaid mailing label and replace any scratched disc.

So for all of you who did not get your 10-page companion guide, just call this toll free number 1-800-723-4763. Tell Disney you did not get it and they will mail it to you and they will pay for the shipping. I hope what I found out helps all of you who did not get your companion guide.

Yeah i got mines from Barnes and noble and the GIfT SET didn't include anything I didn't even realise it came with book ... but anyway found out and called the number above and spoke to someone who will be mailing out my missing items ASAP (THE CS also said that they have been getting a lot of calls about missing booklets etc from the DVD sets ) so they know about it ...

anyway thanks to this site and others I was able to call and hopefully should get my stuff soon.

I am finally going to get this at Wal-Mart sometime this afternoon/evening. Does anyone know how much it is at Wal-Mart?

Edit: Nevermind, I instead bought More Silly Smphonies

If you know someone who can go to sams club they might have it for even less then Walmart sells it for. My Walmart had it for $35 ( that is the 4 disc set by itself ) > Maybe Walmart online will have it for an even lower price ?

Sam's Club has it for about $33 plus tax, which is less than Wal-Marts. However, online Wal-Mart has it at $29.76. But then, once the shipping and handling is added in, I'm sure that it will cost just as much. I was thinking that the price would drop a little after Christmas, but it probably won't. And I'm still hoping to buy the Treasures Wave 6, and the Legacy Collection Wave 1. I wish I had more money to spend.

I bought mine at Borders for $29.99 which I thought was pretty cheap. Especially for Borders. Mine also was missing the booklet. I'll probably have to wait till Tuesday to call. I don't think that they're there on weekends & Tuesday they'll probably be swamped with calls from people who got it as a Christmas gift.

So are all the bonus features from the 2-Disc on the 4-Disc?

Yes, every single one. Which is kinda a bummer. I would rather have 3 completely different discs that didn't repeat any of the material from the other editions.*cough*Disc 2*cough*
