I have been a fan of The Simpsons since the first season. I already have seasons 1-9 from The Simpsons and can't wait to add seasons 10 and 11 to my collection this year. Yeah I already knew that the Simpsons Movie wasn't going to be that great. But let me be honest at least The Simpsons Movie will be funny and entertaining not like some new comedies this year. License to Wed, Hot Rod and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry will be big let downs this year. When the Simpsons The Movie comes out on Friday it will make a big bucks but then the second week it will go down fast. In my own opinion I think that this year we had too many sequels films and not enough original films. At least now we know The Simpsons The Movie 2 won't happen.

Spider-Pig grosses me out.

I know he would do it justice.

Even though The Simpsons is one of my fav shows ever, I am not that excited about the film. I have no intention to see it in theatres. I agree with DVDJunkie, in that this film should have been made about 10 years ago when the show was at its height of popularity. The film just looks like a regular episode that could have been separated into 3 parts on FOX Sunday night.

Is this going to be a lot like the Disney Villain cake competition? If so, what are the cakes going to be of? Is it just going to be the main family or what?

I'll probably give this a try, but it feels more like a plug for the movie.

I'm sorry, Bill. but you were wrong. VERY wrong.

I have no intention of seeing it in theaters, I was sick and tired of the Ralph commercial the first time I saw it. The whole Homer and the pig thing, also became sick of seeing it over and over, especially if they had shown it more then three times in an hour



^Best movie ever made bar none? I find that hard to believe.

Personally, I'm usually excited when a television show (particularly an animated show) makes the move to a theatrical feature. Even if the movie itself isn't great or feels like little more than an extended episode, I still enjoy the experience of absorbing the increased detail in animation and color inherent to moving from broadcast-quality to 35mm (or 70mm or digital projection these days, depending on what your theatre has). The last animated show turned movie I particularly enjoyed for this reason was The Powerpuff Girls Movie... though in that case the movie itself was well-done as well.

Yeah, I know I'm probably considered a freak for finding such a thing nearly as entertaining as the movie itself, but for some reason I always feel the same way upon going to such a movie.

I'll probably see The Simpsons tonight or tomorrow night since my work schedule during the summer doesn't leave me a whole lot of convenient evenings any other weeknight (though I hate going to movies Sun.-Thurs. anyway, so it works out).

My family went to see it at midnight last night, and the whole theatre was laughing non-stop. It wasn't the best Simpsons ever, but it was nonetheless quite good, and surprisingly moving (Julie Kavner in particular gave a really great performance in one scene, bringing far greater depth to Marge than I've seen before), which reminded why I prefer it vastly to "Family Guy".

Plus, half of the fun is seeing it in a theatre with a big group of "simpsons" fans enjoying it together.

I'm very excited to see my favorite animated family on the big screen! They could just use all the jokes from the trailer alone and I would still love it!

Total shock when I opened the Orlando Sentinel this afternoon and saw that Roger Moore, our harder-than-hard-ass film critic, gave The Simpsons Movie 5 out of 5 stars.... Now I've gotta see it.... right after I check out his last 5-star movie, Hairspray.

I knew it was gonna be an episodic film and I rather enjoyed seeing it. (Though thats partially cuz I got to see it for free)

I just got back from seeing this movie, and I thought it was Hysterical! I think it did fine against the incredible hype. Pretty much all the jokes worked and I was laughing constantly. This movie did not dissapoint me!

I also thought the movie was hysterical

Just got back from <i>The Simpsons Movie</i> and haven't laughed so hard for so long in a while. There were some things I wasn't so crazy about -- a little of the humor tried too hard and the political bent sometimes went a bit far -- but for the most part, this was a blast.

* The whole scene of Homer and Bart putting the shingles on the roof (though I had seen it before, I still laughed audibly)
* Bart's skate-boarding through the city.
* After Bart grafitti's a "WANTED" poster of the family, a family that is identical to the grafittied poster is arrested ( )
* "This button will give power to you city, but THIS button...will release the hounds"
* Bart going into strangle position after dropping Flander's fishing pole into the lake.
* "Thank you, boob-lady"
* The operatic rendition of "Spider Pig"
* The whole mob attacking the Simpson's home scene
* "Why are we paying money to see in a theater what we can get for free on TV?"

And there is soooooooo much else, but for now, I think that list will do.

Okay so even though I said that I would not see this in theatres, I caved and went tonight (hey, I had a gift card so it was free). I must say that it was quite funny, even though it felt like just a random extended episode.

My fav gags in the film (a little spoilerish):

-Otto smoking a bong!
-Maggie's first word "sequel"
-all the little woodland animals stripping Marge and Homer and then watching in horror as they start to have sex
-Homer giving 2 middle fingers when getting stuck in the sand trap
-the FOX advertising banner on the bottom of the screen

And many many many more, but that's all I can think of right now. Very funny film.

Final grade: B

I haven't laugh so hard in a long while. This movie was way funnier then Ratatouille. Yes, it did have a same theme that Homer was the main problem why the family gets in trouble.

Here are my favorite parts.

-When Marge sees the Wanted family poster then Bart draws on it making it look like the other family in the store. Then that same family was taken away.
-"Why are we paying money to see in a theater what we can get for free on TV?"
-Nelson and the mother started laughing at Bart when he was naked handcuff to the poll.
-Martin Prince beating up three bullies and filling good about it.
- Spider-Pig and Harry Potter Pig.
- Grandpa being rolled up in a carpet
-all the little woodland animals stripping Marge and Homer and then watching in horror as they start to have sex
-Ralph now saying he loves men.
-Marge and Homer Wedding video Carpenters (They Long To Be) Close To You
-An Irritating Truth Lisa crashing in the ceiling explaining how bad the pollution is.
- Itchy and Scratchy Cartoon.
