In this case, the thread can finally be closed, or not?

Well, it would still be nice to know if "Susie, the Little Blue Coupe" and "Casey Bats Again" will be on the Rarities set. Anybody heard anything?

Hi... rest assured that both DUCK PIMPLES and BELLBOY DONALD will be part of the upcoming DVD set. The error was in the index and the press release. cheers, Leonard Maltin
Im not surprised, but happy just the same! :)

But we can still worry about Susie and Casey. It may not be quite as obvious that the omission of those was an error.

Suzie and Casey are both available in the animated classics. Suzie on Ichabod and Casey on Make Mine Music.

I've got them both somewhere, that's not really my problem. But they still should be included in the Treasures eventually if we don't get them this time. This time seemed more logical to me.

AGH! I'm having hard trouble deciding if I should get Disney Rarities or Chronological Donald Vol. 2 (I can't get both)

I'd go for Chrono Donald 2.

When do we find out how many tins they are producing of each set? Have they said yet?

They haven't said yet, we will probably find out within the next week or two.

Disney Rarities. They're Disney and rare. What more could you want?

Alan,

Considering the limited supply of Disney Treasures, simply get both so you not stuck looking at Marketplace sellers next year. (Maybe pre-order one for December and get the other one in January/February when the DVD releases slow down.) I know I have been favorable to the sellers, but I don't tempt fate with Disney releases anymore. I would simply get both of them and not deal with the possibility of having to look for them the summer of next year on eBay.

But if I had to choose one I would choose the Rareties because:

1) It contains Ferdinand The Bull & Toot, Whistle, Plunk, And Boom, which are two favorite toons not on a Treasure.
2) It really does have a great mixture of Disney efforts. I think the Disney staff really did one shot cartoons very well. I am also looking forward to seeing more Alices. (I want to see how much I like them.)
3) Donald Duck double dips like 8 cartoons from the Front Lines including the really great Der Fuehrer's Face. That only leaves 24 new cartoons to see.

I couldn't really say - they're both essential.

I suggest you walk the extra mile and get them both.

Let's see - they won't be out until early December. Save another 50 cents a day from now on and you'll be there! :)

Here's my amazon order:

Item(s) Subtotal: $92.36
Shipping & Handling: $5.95
Super Saver Discount: $-5.95
Promotional Certificate: $-30.00
-----
Total Before Tax: $62.36
Estimated Tax: $0.00
Total: $62.36
Estimated A9 Instant Reward: $-0.98
-----
Grand Total: $61.38

Price per Treasure: $15.35

That's pretty good. But I'm still pondering if I should cancel one or both of Legendary Heroes and Spin and Marty. Though I do have every treasure thus far so I don't know. It just seems the treasures are becoming less and less "treasury". I guess I have time to decide if I should cancel.

I don't know the material included in those two "other" Treasures this time. But we've had "outsiders" before that turned out to be quite good. I'm getting them all.

I applied for an amazon credit card. Got a $2000 credit line so I really like that card.

Sure, a little bit of info is useful. But first and foremost I still don't "know" the Swamp Fox, Elfego Baca and Spin & Marty in the sense that I "know and love" them - I've never seen them before and cannot say for sure if there's reason for me to really, really want them. But I'll still buy... :)
