Seeing Greta's movies I bet that this Will be the end. Maybe they are trying to modernize Snow White because she has been one of the most criticized princess of all time bit honestly if people want to watch a modern Snow White version they can watch Kristen's Stewart movie.

Why do people have an issue with Disney modernizing Snow White but they didn't have this issue when they did it to Sleeping Beauty with Maleficent?

Because Maleficent was not a adaptation of Disney's classic Sleeping Beauty. It was a new version of the character like they did before with Cruella. This movie is being sold as a live action version of the animated classic and that's why we are asking them to keep the same story. We don't need another modern Snow White because if we would want to see that we would watch Kristen and Lily Collin's versions.

Well, I definitely had an issue with them "modernizing" Sleeping Beauty.
I also think that animosity toward the Disney remakes has had a chance to really fester in the last tenish years since "Maleficent."

Although I refused to see Maleficent, I despised everything I read and heard from those who saw it about the “update”.
Walt’s Sleeping Beauty is one of my favorite films.

I didn't see Maleficent as an update, so much as a revisionist story much like Wicked. With SW, I personally don't mind them having another song that subtly counters SDMPWC--those old Walt films sometimes verged on propaganda to me. I just don't like them copying Mirror, Mirror and OUAT as far as making her a bandit. Come up with a new idea. The Prince being like Robin Hood. the Dwarfs and songs being eliminated are the main changes that will mar this one.
Come to think of it, I did see Maleficent in theaters back when, but that's just because I love Jolie and thought she was a perfect cast. I feel similarly excited about Gadot here; I think a revisionist film centered around her would be more interesting than what they've done with this so far.

I’m watching YouTube sites that say Iger is considering relegating Snow White to Disney+ or canceling it all together. Do y’all think that could be even a possibility?

They could loose much money if they release the movie on Disney+ instead of releasing It on theaters. But to be honest I think that this one could make less money than TLM so it could be a possibility

I think it would be a wise decision on Disney's part. There's a pretty big chance this movie will make less than The Little Mermaid.

They should give Lilo & Stitch a theatrical release and turn Snow White into a Disney+ one.

What’s the problem with SDMPWC?

I didn't say there was anything wrong with the song per se? Just that I don't mind the idea of another song being in the film where SW expresses some active intent, personality, or desire for something aside from her romance is all.
I don't think the song should be cut at all. My opinion on the old Walt princesses has sort of changed with time. I still feel those films do veer into sexism of the the time they were made, but they're not necessarily "harmful" or "damaging" in the now like they would be if they were the only princess films. I don't think those characters are bad ones considering children grow up with a vast variety of characters / role models these days, even in the princess line you have SW, Moana, Ariel, Elsa, Tiana, Mulan, Cinderella, etc. who are all so different from each other. Some are focused on romance, some not; some are more passive, some more active; some pursue their dreams more actively, others rely on wishing; etc. It's really only a bad thing to me when / if only one role is ever presented. That's why I think, after having so many female protagonists without a romantic plot like Moana, Mirabel, Elsa, etc., it wouldn't be that big of a deal now for WDAS to feature a new princess film with romance again (finally). They'd just have to do it sort of off and on, one princess film that features romances then one that doesn't then one that does then one or two that don't, that kind of thing. Of course, there will always be criticism from a fringe, but I think that will keep the criticism from having as much impact or being as widespread like in the early '00s.
As for the song on its merits (separate from the whole gender discussion), I actually never liked it until Barbra Streisand's cover on the Platinum DVD release way back when. The arrangement and her vocal is really gorgeous, it sort of shocked me that the song could sound that good since I was never very fond of it as a child.

I'm glad you grew to love (or just appreciate?) "Someday My Prince Will Come", Divinity. I have always loved that Streisand cover, too.

If Disney fails with snow White then they should stop making live actions. Snow White is the movie that made possible all the Disney universe. The animated classic doesn't deserve the punishment of having the biggest live action fail of all time.

To be fair, none of the animated classics have deserved any of the desecration wrought by the remakes in the first place.

While I agree it will probably won't do very well, there's no way it'll gross less at the box office than Dumbo or Christopher Robin. It's a Disney princess musical and plenty of fans will go watch it regardless of quality.

No way that its getting scrapped entirely, they spent wayy too much for it already only to get rid of it, but when the hate chain increases the upcoming months, i can see them shifting it into a D+ release

I have a feeling (and hope) that this one could indeed do EXTREMELY bad. Because Dumbo and Cristopher Robin may not scream BLOCKBUSTER, they had no real scandal and they were good solid movies with no reason of getting them cancelled, unlike "Snow White". No dwarfs, no Snow White with "skin as white as snow" and the newly surfaced scandal of the new Snow White being too aware that dreaming of true love is weak and becoming a girlboss leader who can save herself and therefore fight herself awake from her coma due to selflove
