I didn't think it was anticlimactic. It surprised me a lot. I guess they could have done more but I thought it was good enough. Yea Henry is not a good actor... I always thought Rumple wanted Emma to come because he wanted to return to his past self, and have Belle, and I think he would want Baelfire to be involved because he wants to be with him again. Am I missing something? And I was thinking Regina did feel bad about what she had done. Part of me hoped she did, but a part of me hopes she doesn't so I can see what happens with her now.

I can't help but agree with you. Don't know if it's a statement, or just because she embodies the character well ? I'm guessing this could be after she cuts her hair ?

Here's a great reason not to miss the December 15th mid-season finale:

http://www.eonline.com/news/487522/once ... nd-out-who

I won't miss this for a second. This season is really getting to be good. Bad news is the series doesn't return until March, so we need to take all we can in to get us through the withdrawals of having to wait over 90 days for the answer.

I think they've grown tired of Kristin Bauer van Straten being unavailable and have recast Maleficent. She looks almost identical to her in that photo.

Why? She can still have long magically blonde hair.

I hope so. I didn't like the first actress anyway, tbh, and wish they'd do something with Maleficent already. Maybe some cross-promotion with the upcoming Maleficent...?

I thought yesterday's episode was the best so far this season, personally. I wish they had these interactions between all the different characters all the time, but I'm sure the budget gets in the way of that, unfortunately.

Actually not that sad to see Mother Superior die. She's been really offputting the last few times they've shown her. It'd be nice to see TinkerBell take over her role. :P

Oh my goodness, so Once can tap into Greek legends ?

That is actually amazing, it could be given a fairy tale twist as well …. I'm still awaiting on more of the King Arthur legend. I know it has been touched on, but not too a massive extent.

With this huge break, I wonder how they will deal with Ginnifer's pregnancy ? :?

Do you reckon that was purposefully written in for her then ?

Wonder if there will be a time split between the two, or if it will just carry straight on from the mid season ending. Jennifer Morrison said on her twitter the end is extremely emotional ….

This was one heck on an interesting mid-season finale. After the episode they revealed who the villain's identity is. Right now I'm not sure If I like this or not. Apparently it's The Wicked Witch of the West from yes, the Wizard of Oz. This hit me totally out of left field and I will judge on if I like her or not when the show comes back. However given Henry and Emma have no memories of what took place in StoryBrooke and with Hook returning to try to get her to to remember and convince her of all should be interesting.

A good thing is that for the rest of this season when Once returns, it will be no repeats at all :D

EDIT

Well it seems some have been spoiled Once Upon a Times Facebook Page just now showed the image in the link below :|

I actually loved the finale, for the most part. I loved how they mixed up the flashbacks--I can't remember if they've ever done that before, but it was added a nice effect to the episode for me. Also, some others were speculating that the time jump could rejuvenate the show somewhat so that the flashback portions of each episode could be taken from the missed year, which is a good idea.

Really looking forward to its return (and Wonderland's, too, which I personally have enjoyed--although it's not on the OUAT's level, of course), although March is so far away. :(

At first I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the Wicked Witch of the West, and I suppose the actress could still turn out to be awful, but that teaser got me really excited. I'm glad to have another villainess. So far I've nearly ever villain on this show to varying degrees (Regina, Rumple, Cora, Pan, Jafar).

Hi!
I've been an ongoing participant in the Frozen thread... but now I shall join the OUAT thread too.

I might be in the minority, but I really don't like a lot of things in this show.. I'd still watch it to see where it goes, but I gave up on the sanity of the characters and I gave up on remembering who is related to who.

I thought the first half of season 1 was good, but the second went downhill, and kept going downhill throughout season 2... Until season 3. I somewhat enjoyed the story lines in this season more than the past. I still hate what they did to Phillip, Aurora, and Mulan... And the CGI is cringe worthy.. If you can't have good CGI, stop writing scenes in such extravagant settings.

I just got done watching the winter finale... And I'm not gonna lie.. I did want to switch it off a few times cause the writing pissed me off. But overall, it wasn't that bad. Better than a lot of the episodes in the show. I really like the way that they ended it and had hoped that it would be a series finale or a season finale cause it seems weird to start a brand new story line with a brand new villain halfway through the season.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that they madePeter Pan a Villain. I've always seen him as a villain, even in the movie.

But here's a thought.. Now that everyone is back in the Enchanted Forest.. How will they survive without technology? ;P

I couldn't agree more. People keep saying "But it's television!". There are television shows with brilliant special effects. But it's clear they don't want to spend much money on this one. And I wouldn't either with scripts like those.
