I doubt we'll see less expensive playline dolls of these. Remember when they made designer dolls of Alice, Peter Pan, the Queen of Hearts and Cruella? We never got them as regular playline dolls.
And yes I would have liked Kida, Jane and Eilonwy and Wendy dolls too.

I forgot about those earlier dolls. However, pretty much all of those, with the exception of maybe Alice, wouldn't really fit into the Disney Princess doll line anyway. Esmeralda, Meg, and Giselle would still be appropriate additions even though it is highly unlikely we'll see them transition over from the limited doll series.
I was always upset that we never got a Wendy doll since we got Alice and Peter. As for Eilonwy, at this point we'll be lucky if Disney ever opts to release her film on Blu-Ray, so I wouldn't even bother hoping for her getting a doll.

I was hoping when they made those non-Princess Designer dolls that they were later going to make a new line of Disney heroes and heroine dolls. And maybe include a new villains line as well. Why make all those new head molds just to use them once? But I guess they'd end up with too may dolls being sold at the Disney Store.

There was a time in the late 90's when Mattel released Tinker Bell and Wendy dolls. I can't remember if there was also a Peter Pan or not.

Disney seems reluctant when it comes to the non-princess characters which is probably why we never saw any of those dolls being created for a new line. I'm a little surprised about the Alice in Wonderland characters because they tend to sell and Disney created lots of dolls for Alice's live-action films. Cruella, surprisingly, never even got a limited edition doll for the Diamond Edition of 101 Dalmatians even though she was highly rumored. That makes me wonder actually if we'll see any for Maleficent this year.

Yes, I remember those but we've never seen the Disney Store make a Wendy doll before.

Oh, Disney Store Wendy dolls. Yeah, they never made them.

I remember those Wendy dolls, they were actually skipper dolls with a repainted face.
I just found out the prices of the new Designer Disney dolls: $300 for the couples two packs, $130 for the single dolls like Megara. Yikes, just kill me know.
found the info here, this is a great blog for checking out what new Disney merch is coming up:

Wow, they're pricey. Ironic, because Disney's limited edition dolls have been selling less and less, yet their prices have been hiking up. Sounds like there should be some sort of correlation there.
Thanks for the link! I forgot that TLM is getting new designer dolls this year. I know the Platinum Set will be their wedding outfits so I hope the individual Ariel doll will feature her blue village dress while Eric will be in his sailor outfit.

Looks cute. Random observations:
- Aurora in blue
- Cinderella in silver/blue
- Pocahontas' tattoo is on the wrong arm

This would be perfect if they’d put Moana where Merida is instead. Either way, I like Snow White at the top and the Frozen sisters at the bottom.

Moana was probably not included because the illustration was made in 2018, before she officially joined the line-up. Then again the Frozen sisters are present even though they aren't part of the DP brand.

It is a lovely illustration and it is clear that the artist has an appreciation for the films from which these heroines hail.
I hate what the DP line has done to the characters— sucked out their personalities and turned them into silent smiling faces in gaudy gowns. Yuck.

Everybody's colors are right! Well, Aurora's sleeves are supposed to be lighter than her...girdle or whatever, but still.

If you guys like that artist and her works, you should check out the Disney Doodles page. What I especially love is how the art doesn't just focus on the princesses or the main Disney characters but even includes "obscure" or rare characters from Hunchback, The Rescuers, Pete's Dragon, etc. I think pretty much every Disney animated film has been represented in one shape or form.

Does anyone remember the song "I See a Princess" sung by Belle (Susan Egan) from the "Tiana and her Princess Friends" 2009 album?
It has always been one of my favorite "Disney Princess" songs, and I'm super glad they are using it in the Disneyland Paris show
The Starlit Princess Waltz.
Here's the full show:

(You can hear the "I See a Princess" song in minute 8:50, mixed with "Once Upon a Dream")
