That's exciting to hear! I won't have a Blu-ray player until Christmas, so I am looking forward to being able to access all the bonus features on the Blu-ray discs I have, in addition to watching the movies in HD, of course! The DVD of Beauty and the Beast looked beautiful, so I am looking forward to seeing it in Blu.
Oh yes you are certainly in for treat there, picture/sound wise and also bonus wise. I know it's going off topic here slightly but which other titles have you so far accumulated on Blu-Ray? I haven't actually checked out what the film looks like on the accompanying DVD, I might have to investigate that sometime when I've got lots of free time. I quickly popped it in just to see what the menus were like and how they compared to the Blu-Ray but that's as far as I got

Still need to check out what else the Diamond Edition has to offer, will take a look at the Classic DVD Bonuses later this week if I get a chance it's been a while since I watched my Platinum Edition so it will be good to re-watch these features!
I am one of those 'DVD-Only owners' and I'm not sad at all! :)

I *was*, however, when the recent Snow White DVD came out. I just can't get why Disney would treat one classic movie on DVD very good (like Pinocchio), then treat one bad (Snow White) and then put out a good one again, being Beauty. :?

Of course I would have preferred to have all bonus features, but hey... you can't have everything in life. (I also wanted the Alice in Wonderland and Pocahontas 2-disc DVDs in Holland as well, but like I said: Disney works in mysterious ways.) The bonus features thar *are* on the DVD are very good and offer enough insight in the making off the film.
Ah I wasn't exactly aware of what the 2-Disc DVD owners would be getting bonus wise, I only knew that Beyond Beauty was a Blu-Ray exclusive however when I've actually taken a look at what your getting it's not actually as bad as I thought there still seem to be some meaty features. I totally agree with you about Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs however as at the time of it's release I had yet to buy my player and so ended up buying the 2-Disc DVD (after already purchasing the Diamond Blu-Ray on day of release, so in hindsight the DVD purchase was really a waste of money, I should have just waited for the features but meh!) and I was shocked at what they had held back on! :o

enigmawing- You won't know who I am but I just wanted to say I love those Dora pictures you've photoshopped! My favorite is without a doubt mermaid Dora in Atlantica!

I've just started upgrading my Disney films this year, and so far I've gotten Snow White, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, and The Princess and the Frog in combo Blu-ray/DVD packs. I'll probably be getting Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 when they come out in a few weeks, too.

I've recently decided to start getting the Toy Story movies as well, and I might get the first one on Blu/DVD along with my Blu-ray player this Christmas, so I can see what CGI films look like in HD in addition to the traditional animated titles I already have.

I'd rather have silly milk bud-ified Disney pictures than the unfunnier facepalms.

I don't think that gif I posted is funny either, it just shows what I do when I walk into this thread and see nothing but new milk bud pics.

Um, yeah . . . I made a few pics because I was asked to and because certain members actually enjoy them (not to mention they've been a fun, welcome distraction for me). I'd planned on moving them over to a more suitable thread whenever I was in the mood to do more since I've felt bad about derailing this one.

Regardless I'd rather see a few crazy Milk Buds refs than more endless and uninformed bitching/arguing about the colors, which is what prompted all this to begin with. :p

The day Disney Duster admits he doesn't really know what Walt Disney would have thought...

'Cause, you see, that's when hell will be freezing over...

But Hell freezing over would be a fantasy, one which would perfectly illustrate the essence of what Walt was all about!

I come into this thread expecting to see something actually about BatB. Even about the colors, or maybe something off-topic about something someone feels is important, and instead, I just get to be Dumbo in this scene.

Okay, for something serious and on-topic now: the colors.

Yes, my dear Milk Bud-lovers, the colors. You don't like to discuss the colors? Please, go play outside. Nobody's forcing you to read this thread or reply to it.

I've watched the Celine Dion music video, as I mentioned before, and today, I've also watched the theatrical trailer. Both have the dark colors. The dvd have the bright colors. Can we change that by discussing this for 30 more pages? No. Do I lose any sleep over it? No. But can we please acknowledge that I'm not blind for seeing an enormous differcne --and that, therefore, Disney must have screwed up. Is that acceptable?

I think we all know they screwed up the colors, its just a matter of when. if we are to believe their claim, they screwed them up from the get go, thats why the trailers, music videos, everything else from the 90s was the darker version of the colors. no one except those involved with the production know what they saw back in the day on their monitors but them.

There should really only be one question. did they screw up the colors before they changed the colors for the dvd/bluray, or after (as a result of).

Yes, Disney screwed up. With the first release. :p I don't think anyone's claiming there isn't a huge difference between them.

When the discussion about the colors is done and over with...

Which means...
