DisneyJedi, forgive me if I say this, but you need professional help. Nothing personal. I'm sure either a Mickey Mouse movie or Ron and John's movie will be hand drawn, even though they might do it in a different way. The point is, you just need to have faith in Disney.

All I've had was faith in them, but honestly, over the years, I've felt it hasn't done much good so far.

In fact, I kind of feel myself put in Cinderella's shoes at that point that she temporarily lost hope after her stepsisters ruined her chance at being accepted as a family member than just some scullery maid.

After reading your points I kinda do believe that Disney does not care, at best, if hand-drawn phases out and, worst case scenario, they want it to.

Who knows? Maybe they're so convinced that 2D is old hat that they don't bother trying to put a lot behind it, and instead back what's big right now--the 3D films.

@Dream Huntress: The film wasn't slated to be 3D until it came back from "story problems" ( ) this last time. Before that, it was 2D.

I've all but given up my faith in Disney. Tangled's name absolutely ruined it for me. I suggest that you and me and other people be mice and fairy godmother's to help Disney become it's true beautiful 2-D non-stupid title self again. I mean a HUGE campaign. Like Save Disney. Why are the big campaigns always done for the theme park stuff? It's time we did it too! And then, then, we will use faith that our hard work might actually do something to do it.

I just don't understand why some people are so dramatic over the hand-drawn vs CG issue. The simple fact is that Disney have not categorically said that hand-drawn animaton is finished at the studio so there's always a chance that we might see another hand-drawn feature. I don't dispute the fact that the medium is struggling right now and that's sad to see, but I don't see the point of getting hysterical over it when we don't know what could happen in the future.

For it to be as huge as Save Disney, you would need a member of the Disney family to lead it, significant financial backing and the support of the majority of the Walt Disney Company's shareholders. Would Disney even take notice of such a campaign when Tangled made so much money and was so successful?

It's more of a "bitter, but not surprised" than a "dramatic/hysterical."

As far as Disney actually making a "statement" or some such, I don't think that's exactly necessary. Anyone can see the writing on the wall.

EDIT: I don't think DisneyJedi is wrong all the top. S/he's overreacts, but that doesn't mean everything s/he says is automatically wrong.

Like I said, DisneyJedi needs to cut Disney some slack. Besides, I'm not giving up on Disney. I'm sure Disney will do a hand drawn movie in the future. In the meantime, I'm sure we'll enjoy Wreck It Ralph and Frozen. By the way, did anybody like my Annie joke? Got that idea from SNL.

I only say that because they've done it before. Regardless, call me in denial but I'll agree that hand-drawn is completely finished at Disney when they say so. As we've all seen before, things can change at Disney quickly and without any hint of them coming; who's to say that in a year there won't be a hand-drawn feature in development? It might look unlikely right now but personally I don't think it's impossible.

Okay, as bleak as it seems, we can't give up complete hope. I mean, it was believed that Home on the Range was Disney's "last" hand-drawn movie, but look what happened five years later! Even if The Princess and the Frog wasn't a completely financial success, at least it proved that Disney hadn't given up on the medium altogether. Not to mention that, despite the fact it wasn't entirely hand-drawn, Enchanted managed to use SOME hand-drawn animation. And then there was Winnie the Pooh, which was hand-drawn and didn't cost too much, despite not making a lot of money.

Okay, as much as money helps support the company, that shouldn't be the deciding matter in most things.

Why this sudden doom and gloom? You people are depressing. Just show some patience for once and wait for what Disney has in store.

THANK YOU! They did say that the hand-drawn they're going to use is nothing we ever saw, so don't worry. 2D is still here. Even if it's still somehow CGI AND hand-drawn, at least, Disney atill uses it. BTW: What new movie is it going to be in? Ron and John's?

I wasn't trying to be that depressing. I know, I was being dramatic from the new Mickey Mouse movie, but I'm trying to control that. So, that's great they're still doing hand drawn. That's wonderful.

I can't remember exactly what it said but from what I can recall it was along the lines of Disney working a new type of animation that we haven't seen before. I can't remember the exact details of the post so don't quote me on this but I can remember something along those lines.
