I love this site, I've been coming here almost every day for years. I also really appreciate the hard work Luke puts into it.
I never realized until now how negative about Blu-ray he is. I should have guessed, being that the Blu-ray page hasn't been updated since last October.
I was an early adopter of Blu-ray and prefer to buy new releases/re-releases in that format. While I appreciate that Luke sends out the discs to those who have Blu-ray to get some reviews from that format, I am disappointed that he isn't planning on adopting the format for a while, so it seems. I would love to get side-by-side reviews from his perspective on both mediums, because I'm pretty sure Blu would blow him away. I'm in the process of buying my second HDTV and Blu-ray player. The prices have dropped so its affordable for me to do so. After going Blu, it's hard to look back - I have to admit. I respect his opinion, I think I'm just disappointed that he doesn't want the best of the best in order to review all that's out there.
Edited to say that I preordered Pinocchio from Amazon all the way back in October of last year, I think. It's not scheduled to be delivered until maybe the end of the week. I'm getting sick of them, and I might start buying in store for a few dollars more from now on.

I don't like taking sides or whatever, but I agree with David S. lol.
I am just fine with my DVD's as well. In time, I will upgrade with everyone else the way I did with VHS to DVD. I feel Blu-ray is going to take over soon so when it does I will start then. Right now, I want my Disney DVD's with ALL the features on it. I just don't like how Disney is only putting some features only on Blu-ray when clearly it can fit on the DVD as well.

Tomorrow at Best Buy right after work. It sounds lame, but I hope they still have the lenticular cups by the time I get there. The one pictured in Best Buy's ad actually seemed pretty tall and classy looking.

So, will we be forced to get the Blu-Ray DVD even if we do get the "standard" DVD?

^no. That's just the reviewers. The normal DVD will still be available separately.

I'm trying to decide between getting it at Target or at Best Buy. Anyone know if the free CD from Target will only come with the standard DVD or also with the Blu-Ray? If it WILL be with the Blu-Ray too, anyone know what is on it? (Like is it the soundtrack or something?)

Best Buy's price is $26, a few bucks below the standard price, and it comes with a free cup! Okay, the CD's more worthwhile, but prices are also a factor.
Since all these "free collectibles" seem to come with the both versions, the CD should, too.

I heard it is a soundtrack with a couple of songs from the film on it.
Price match with Toys R Us's add...more new blu ray releases should be this cheap

Yeah, they should. Though, many would say that it's Disney pushing the format. Gees, I'm not going even be the one to bring
that up again.

I'm picking up the blu-ray first thing tomorrow at Target. I can't wait to finally have this release, as it's one of my top favorite Disney films, and I haven't seen it in about three years. Finally I can give my old video copy of it I taped off the Disney Channel in the early 90s a rest now.
