What's the explain? becouse in DVD Ariel tells Ursula that "You tried to overthrow my father!" and she's got banished.

But that's what I want to see!
How ursula got into the palace in the first place, and how she gained access to the royal quarters in order to overthrow him!

It did not come out of thin sea. "Disney DVD Game World: Disney Princess Edition" had some trivia questions about "The Little Mermaid III", and one of them was "In The Little Mermaid III, what is Ariel's mother's name?" and the answer was "Athena".

That was a deleted scene, you can't take that as the official reason, because they may have decided not to use that idea. Unfortunately, this movie does not seem to want to make an official explanation of how Ursula got banished, so that's what will have to do until one day Disney says "This is the official reason Ursula was banished:". Believe it or not, Disney doesn't always plan or come up with reasons for everything, just like we don't always know where a princess lives or what her age is.
But I'm really hoping Marina Del Ray is Ursula in disguise! REINER, that's a great idea, actually. It makes a homage to her disguise in the first film. It's like when she disguised herself as Sebastian's "Fairy Crab Mother" in the series!

They said in the booklet that it's "why Ursula got banished" so it's not official?.
We know where most of the Princesses live.

Yea, but they also said Triton was Ursula's sister and I think they only planned that while Ursula was still designed as a mermaid. I just don't think it's official, Disney does mess up in some of their own stuff (they once called Usrula's song "Poor Souls" in a press release!).
And we don't really know where Cinderella lives (maybe France), Sleeping Beauty lives (England?), Snow White lives (Germany?), or Ariel lives (Denmark?).

That reminds of a small fact off a website I read once:
Originally, Ariel was to have a close friend named Vysonto who is a mutant merman with magical powers. In the final scenes, Vysonto would join in the battle of Ursula. He would protect Ariel by countering the beam emmitted by the trident, which Ursula had acquired. Eventually he would merge himself with his beam to make it more powerful hence sacrificing himself. In the meantime Eric would have more time to finish off Ursula. As we all know, it was not meant to be and Vysonto's design then inspired the character Rikuo from Capcom's Darkstalkers, a series of fighting games.
Kind of glad he was cut.
Why not? and besides, who she can possibley do this when she's banished? she need the person to cast a spell on him (like when she turned the merpeople into worms, she could do this from her cave, why go to Atlantica? becouse she need the person),
But there's also the episode of "Ariel's Treasures" where she enchants the things in Ariel's grotto simply by using her bubble/orb.
Besides, I was suggesting that, since this is a prequel, she wouldn't be banished yet.

If my memory is correct, I think the narrator does say Cinderella lived in a grand chateau in France. I have a memory of watching it recently and saying to myself, "Oh, wow, we have a definite location told to us!"
(Well, they said they designed the castle in The Little Mermaid with a Mediterranean style to make it warm and inviting, I think.)

No, the narrator said there was a small kingdom, rich in romance and tradition. The chateau was described as stately. No specific location was given.

has anyone ever noticed in TLM that in the scene where ursula is saying a chant just before ariel's voice is taken way, ursula says something about the Caspian Sea in her chant? this leads me to think that ariel might have lived somewhere in the caspian sea because if i remember correctly, the author, Hans Christian Anderson lived somewhere close to that sea.
any thoughts on this?
EDIT: Ursula clearly says "Come winds of the Caspian Sea."

Oh, really? Then which movie was it that said right up front they were in France?
(Beauty and the Beast, I guess.)

It could be either another allusion to Hans Christian Anderson, or just put in the chant for randomness.

It would be hard for King Triton to be ruler of the seven seas if his kingdom resided in the middle of Central Asia, nor would Eric and his crew be caught in a hurricane or Ursula be capable of conjuring a giant whirlpool.
Besides, she says "Come," which leads one to believe that the winds are "coming" from somewhere else. Hence, she could've said "Come winds of Greenland" and it wouldn't necessarily mean Ariel lived near Greenland.

Joe Carioca and it's supposed to be the logo for Ariel's Beginning. Although it looks like the old TLM logo the lettering in this one is different. Could be the official logo? I don't know. It's too small to say after all.

That logo has been taken directly from the UK Box Set of The Little Mermaid: Special Edition and The Little Mermaid II: Return To The Sea. It featured a picture shell opening with TLM logo on the top half of the shell, and TLMII logo on the bottom half:
So who knows? Could seem logical to follow the sequal's logo.

I'm really excited for this film as Little Mermaid being one of my favorite Disney films. I think that just as Disney is stopping making sequels they were getting them right for once. In my opinion Cinderella III has been the best sequel to date, and Little Mermaid III sounds uber awesome as well. Does anyone know if a special edition re-release of Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea is coming out soon? Maybe next year, before Little Mermaid III?

When Cinderella III came out in the UK, there was a special edition re-release of Cindy II, so there will almost certainly be a SE of TLMII as well I should think. The US are getting a CindyII special edition presumably for the release of the Cinderella and Mulan's volume of 'Enchanted Tales'.

"Cinderella II" is coming out next month in the U.S., but the next volume of "Enchanted Tales" isn't coming out next month (unless Disney is just going to surprisingly release it next month).

blackcauldron85, I ment that it was kind of paving the way for Enchanted Tales V.2. Do you see what I mean? Its been 2 years since the original release, then teh 3rd part came out this year, then CindyII, then parents will see Enchanted Tales next year and go 'Ooh! Lets compleate my child's Cinderella set!'
Or something like that .
