More than concept art, that's more like a 3-D still that rotated around and showed all dimensions and sides! That's no mere sketch, that's what a finished film still would look like. 3-D CGI that looks like a painting.
I agree, if they just made the film exactly like that, it'd be perfect in look.

Not even close. It'd be way too much on such a production.

BUT that is what Glen Keane always intended! For the film's animation to look exactly like that finished still!

what i don't understand is with all the technology we have, you'd think we' just be able to tell computers to make it look that way.. you know?

Our technology is not THAT advance yet.

On the picture on the right on "02", is that the witch?!? Is that the first we've seen of her?!? It looks like concept art, but it's still exciting to me!

What I don't understand is why they have decided to use the Disney animation from the 50's as an inspiration. This style has already inspired the look of The Princess and the Frog. Somewhere in the future, we could hopefully have a movie based on the style from the peak of the 40's.
As it has already been quoted in this thread:
“The design of (this) film will try to put … a fresh twist on a 1950s retro vibe. “Byron and I are such huge fans of Disneyland, and of Fantasyland in particular,” Nathan says. “The architecture of Fantasyland is nostalgic 1950s Fantasyland. There’s real appeal and style that are used in films like Cinderella, so we’re doing research on that style …”

I've said some negative things about this movie before, but if the finished product manages to look anything like that third pic (which is only concept art, I presume), I'm gonna have to eat my words.
Is Kristin Chenoweth still the voice of Rapunzel? Because it seems they based the character's looks off of her.

I don't think there's any news on that, only rumors. Apparently, according to IMDb David Schwimmer and Peter Sallis (Wallace from the claymation films) are also in this. I don't know whether there's any truth to that, but it would be good.

If David Schwimmer is
really in I'll be
really psyched!

I hope it's true. David Schwimmer has a voice made for animation and he was my favorite part of Madagascar.

Is this an authentic David Schwimmer Facebook page? Or is it fanmade? It's difficult to tell with these celebrities ...

If its really him then I am a lot more popular, lol.
Anyhow, I would really love for him to be a voice in this film. Do you think he'd be the prince?

That's definitely fake. Besides, I doubt he'd use a publicity photo for his profile pic... Nobody's that vain.

Yes, and it's all superbly beautiful, pretty perfect. I love it.
And look, instead of that plain tower in the clouds in the concept we got with the prince scaling the tower, they used the original, better, more beautiful tower with the roomier, house-on-top-of-the-tower-like structure. The OLD one on the left is the original, the NEW one on the right is based close to it:
I admit, I prefer the original's even roomier housier version, but it's nice that it's there at all...
But notice how in the original OLD one on the left, the painting is more detailed, rich, buttery, and rococco, the Fragonard look Glen Keane was going for? I hope they keep that, and don't make it just "painterly" like the new one makes me fear.

I was just gonna post that. Guess I was a little too late.
Is that a tiny beard I see at the tip of the prince's chin? I hope not.
