This is the UK announcement thread my lovely; its more of a question for the Winnie the Pooh thread on the Disney forum.

Well according to the BBFC we can't expect anything for Hercules beyond the short Making Of and Music Video from the DVD release.
How disappointing for such an underlooked film. I'd go as far as calling it their most stylish film - it's certainly the film with the most interesting design and animation. And James Woods is great.

I compleately agree, it's such a shame it's looked over...we can add it to the UK body count for crappy blu releases along with Mulan, Aladdin, Peter Pan...

Let's hope the transfer has no issues. Disney have gotten so careless, I half expect
Hercules to have mild macroblocking and possibly aliasing on the lineart.
How are you
Netty?

We haven't spoken in ages!

Mary Poppins is coming to Blu-Ray on November 18th. And in other news, looks like Disney UK have jumped on the Photoshop bandwagon with this brilliant new cover design...

I quite like that cover, I have to say .... isn't it just the usual Mary Poppins face & body they use ?

Are we getting any Diamond Editions this year, or are they not bothering with a European release ? I know the US has Jungle Book coming up, but we've already had it ! Will Sleeping Beauty be the next ?

Haven't been on here for a lot time, so my apologies.
So far, there aren't any more Diamond editions of classics confirmed. They just released Jungle Book and Little Mermaid as so, and next month they're re-releasing the sequels/prequels of those two.
Here's a current rundown:
March
3rd -
Emperor's New Groove (Blu-ray)
10th -
Jungle Book 2 (New DVD)
Little Mermaid 2 (DVD)
Little Mermaid 3 (DVD)
Lilo & Stitch (Blu-ray)
17th -
Doc McStuffins: Vol 3 - A Little Cuddle Goes A Long Way (DVD)
31st -
Frozen (DVD, Blu-Ray and 3D)
April
14th -
Jake & The Never Land Pirates: Vol. 5 - Jake Vs Hook (DVD)
Sofia The First: The Floating Palace (DVD)
I'm waiting to find out whether or not Disney will release the Third Collection for TaleSpin in the UK. it came out in Germany on May 2013, but nothing has happened since.

So disappointing, my collection will look a complete mess. Unless I import I suppose.
Wonder what SB will be, if it gets released over here?

Has anyone heard if Sainsbury's is getting a Frozen Exclusive deal like they did with MU? They recently got the exclusive rights to Toy Story of Terror DVD so I'm hopeful.
I want an extra disc or something. I cancelled my Amazon order just in case.

I noticed that as well, about 'Toy Story of Terror'; does give hope for an exclusive, but I wouldn't count on it, knowing what Disney UK Home Entertainment is like ….
Sainsburys certainly always have alternate covers though, for some odd reason, for most major releases.

Something I am wondering and I wonder if anyone could shed light on it for me.
Is Bambi still a diamond edition over here? I've noticed the DVD in Sainsbury's without the 'Diamond Edition' banner and the bluray/DVD is still available in the current BOGOF deal (again, without the banner). Has it been dropped?
I'm starting to wonder if the whole vault thing is about to be dropped over here. Bambi and Lady and the Tramp are still available for 1st hand new from Amazon. Bambi was vaulted 2012 and LatT last year.
If it has, is there any difference between the Bambi 'diamond' labelled blu-ray and the non labelled blu?
I've just redeemed my 2for1 deal but I'm thinking about maybe upgrading Bambi next time but if the unlabeled disc is lacking Ill track down the diamond one.

Ahh, good old Sainsbury's. That was the one supermarket I had the opportunity to see when I visited the UK. I was also aghast when I found out that supermarkets over there are now charging for bags.

Not all supermarkets charge for bags. Sainsbury's don't and I shop in there
a lot.
When is the UK going to get Basil on bluray? It's one of the films I really really want on blu ray. Is it likely we'll see it for 2014?
Is the US version region A locked? I don't think my blu ray would play it
It was going to be one of 15 I promised myself to get on blu ray (That rule has now gone right out of the window)

As far as I'm aware, they aren't locked. I buy plenty from the US, and they work fine on my player.

Thanks

Amazon says it's region A but I've read elsewhere it is not region locked.
Guess this is my next purchase.
I've bought so many Disney films recently that it will sadly have to wait. I just couldn't ignore the Region 1 collector's sets of Aladdin, Cinderella and TLK (and the Fantasia Anthology) so all my money has gone on them.
This website does bad things to me. Bad bad things.
Also found out the US Brave isn't region locked so I'm eyeing that.

For me, I'll have to purchase Lilo & Stitch / Mulan in their US forms of the double features, as our packaging is just so poop.
