The Wicked Nine made their first appearance in the episode "The Mystic Isles: The Falcon's Eye" (season 4, episode 14). They are nine objects that belonged to the villains of nine Disney Princesses.
The Wicked Nine is the collective name of the following:
• Queen Grimhilde's Crown & Heart Box
• Lady Tremaine's Key
• Maleficent's Staff
• Ursula's Nautilus Shell Necklace
• Jafar's Snake Staff
• Shan Yu's Sword
• Dr. Facilier's Hat
• Mother Gothel's Magical Golden Flower
• Mor'du's Claw
Notably absent are belongings of Gaston's and of Ratcliffe's. While Ratcliffe not being included may be due to Pocahontas never making an appearance on the show, there isn't an explanation as to why Gaston wasn't included.
When asked, the showrunner didn't provide a convincing answer.
Q: Why wasn't a belonging of Gaston's and Ratcliffe's included in the Wicked Nine?
Craig Gerber: The real answer is that nine was all that was needed.

^Not all of them. Ariel isn't going to appear (probably) because they didn't have a model/rig of hers available as a human; she had only appeared on the show as a mermaid. They aren't going to waste any money creating it just for a very brief cameo. And of course Pocahontas who was never featured on the show in the first place.

I think Ariel is between Tiana and Cinderella, and maybe she is in her mermaid form. It wouldn't be strange since they're not really there, they're kind of floating in the air, like spirits.

Thanks. I didn't catch that earlier.
That could only be Ariel behind Sofia's head, unless it's Olaf lol.

Gerber says that all the Disney princesses from fictional settings are from the Ever Realm.
Q: So are all the Disney Princesses from the Ever Realm, except different decades from Sofia?
Craig Gerber: Yes. Except the ones from real world places. Like New Orleans.

There are currently no plans for Sofia to make an appearance on Elena of Avalor.
Q: Will Elena visit Enchancia in future episodes?
Craig Gerber: No.

Q: Is Sofia totally over? Is there a plan to give her a movie? Also, will she appear in Elena?
Craig Gerber: Sofia is done. Thanks for watching!

Q: After the show, do you have new plans for Sofia and her universe?
Craig Gerber: Elena of Avalor takes place in the EverRealm, the same universe as Sofia. But Sofia's story is done for now. No new plans.

The Sofia the First team wanted to make an 'Art of' book but Disney Publishing wasn't interested.
Q: Mr. G, is an art book a possibility at all? Where should we make our inquiries? One for Elena would be fun too.
Craig Gerber: We pitched a Sofia art book to the publishing folks. They weren't interested.

He also revealed why characters don't age in Disney TV shows.
Q: Do we see Isabel’s character design change in the show as she grown up?
Craig Gerber: I think it's safe to reveal that there will be a slight Isabel character design change next summer. This is a rare thing. The Company does not like characters in the show not matching the designs on the toys/books/dolls/notebooks etc.
Q: Really? Sofia the First changed to pink dress and pink amulet since the crossover, and the character with purple dress/amulet remained on the parks and stores until now. The toys/books/dolls/notebooks with the pinked Sofia are rare.
Craig Gerber: It was a big decision to change the "hero" dress. The intention was to switch everything over to the new dress, but the consumer products folks gave up on the franchise right after the dress was changed. This is the result.
Q: Oh, is that why Sofia and the other kids didn't change much despite aging three years?
Craig Gerber: Yes. The Company would prefer all characters to be frozen in time with no serialized storytelling, but they have been incredibly supportive of our storytelling endeavors and I will always appreciate that.
Q: This is true with fairy tales. The Company has another policy with franchises as Star Wars and Marvel. Every little change on the characters has new toys/books/notebooks/action figures.
Craig Gerber: That's because every movie has its own set of "main character art" for the merchandise tied to the movie. Every time a new movie comes out, a whole new line of merchandise. They generally don't want to globally update the artwork for a TV show bc a series only debuts once.
