Well, just checked Fandango & found out my local Regal will be carrying a full slate of 2D as well as 3D showings. Saw LK in theaters when it was originally released & wanted to see it again but not in phony post production added 3D. I'll only see a movie in 3D if it was FILMED in 3D.

An iron pack is a metal case much like a steelbook.

That as JiminyCrick91 posted the picture of the Iron Pack. What you have pictured is the Trilogy Gift Set. I think all the discs will be inside that drum type thing. The way it holds the discs is probably identical or very similar to the Toy Story Trilogy when Toy Story 3 was released on DVD/Blu ray.
They are doing one very similar one also for Cars 2....The only reason I'm getting the trilogy set is for 1 I don't have any of them on blu ray for obvious reasons, 2 is there isn't a separate release for the other 2 sequels in the set. Basically this is the only way you can get the 2 sequels....at least for the moment. I'll be buying the iron pack or something else like a Blu Ray case that would hold that many discs once I receive it via amazon. Also it comes out the same day as Lion King on blu ray, October 4th,
Oh, and in other Lion King related News
Box Office Preview: 'Lion' could be king again
http://news.yahoo.com/box-office-previe ... 26588.html
Disney's "The Lion King," one of the most successful animated films ever, will roar again this weekend with a 3-D release that could put it back at the top of the box office charts with a very proud $12 million plus. The 1994 release was the second-highest grossing film of that year and ranks fourth on the all-time domestic animated list with over $784 million in worldwide revenue.
"Contagion," however, will not be eradicated without a fight and the Warner Bros. release will likely spread another $11 million into domestic theaters following its winning $23 million opening last week.

The ironpack (its really a "metal pack" I think) is just an extra collectible case you receive if you pre-order from Best Buy. It doesn't have anything in it - just an empty case that comes free with pre-order.
So technically, I see no reason why you can't get both.

My local Cinemark is having only one showing each day of The Lion King in 2D but the 3D version they have it in various times. Going to see it in 3D my sister is excited cause apparently if you go to see The Lion King 3D they give you a Lion King 3D glasses instead of normal black 3D glasses but only if you buy a child ticket. I wish they would give one to everyone not only kids but adults too.

Thanks, Manson and disneyboy20022.
Well, it turns out that my friends is still taking all of my friends and I to TLK in 3D NEXT Saturday for one of their birthday parties , and Mom may reschedule my appointments so I can go. Love my mom.
If I do go, I have wait for an extra week.

Meanwhile, I'll see reviews on the 3D.

On all the ads I've seen around the Iron Pack, they only have pictures offering the 7.50 towards pre-ordering the regular Combo Pack (Blu-ray and DVD) and 3D Combo Pack (with Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray 2D, DVD, Digital Copy) - no pictures with Trilogy set. Maybe if you asked a Best Buy worker though?
If the Iron Pack has space for 3 discs...what do you put in them? Is the 3D combo pack only 3 discs (so no Digital Copy disc?)?

ftr, BatB's 3D got rave reviews. This may be less phony than a live-actiion conversion. Especially since they have everything on-hand.

Seeing it in about 13 hours!!! SO EXCITED. I also hope this is a big hit so they can (maybe) bring BatB in 3D for a wide release!

Got the Blu-ray today. Great picture (as always on Disney Blu-ray)! Will get the 3D Blu-ray when it is released in Norway in December.

Anyone else see in 3D theaters today? I thought the 3D looked really great - unnecessary, yes, but still very well done. I felt bad for my boyfriend, I was crying like half the time so by the end his shoulder was soaking wet hahaha.

I saw it today and I was slightly disappointed by the 3-D. Circle of Life, the wildebeest stampede and the iconic log walk scene looked terrific, but the rest of the 3-D looked very strange to me. The characters felt dis-connected from the backgrounds and there were points where even their noses looked wobbly.
Loved experiencing The Lion King on the big screen again, though. But when Disney does their next re-release (wouldn't surprise me considering this one will top the box-office this weekend), I will probably stick with the 2-D version.

I just got back from seeing The Lion King in 3D with my fiance. Also they had a showing earlier of The Lion King in 2D. I must say the 3D is amazingly good on The Lion King. Some Scenes the 3D didn't feel necessary. Though in the Songs they were good, and other scenes. It was in your face type, But I Liked it. Also I bet they'll be doing more of these in theaters, My prediction is Beauty and the Beast will come next at some point which isn't too far of a stretch since Disney back in the 70s and 80s was low on funds, they re-released movies to gain some money such as 101 Dalmatians, Jungle Book, Song of the South (apparently it was to my surprise. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see the 80s TV Ad on Youtube) Snow White Etc. The reason I say they might be doing this is since they've had some big bombs lately (namely Mars Needs Moms takes the cake) and the economy is bad. I see a recipe going on. I've always had a keen since of Marketing Views for some reason. I really think this is what Disney Might Do, if the Lion King is successful in the box office this weekend, which it has a good chance to. I'm Not saying release Snow White in 3D, but possibly Rescuers Down Under, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, or Little Mermaid etc. Or release the others in theaters that are in the vault right now. Who Knows.

To those who have seen Lion King in its theatrical re-release or who are informed about it, which version of the movie is it? Original, IMAX, or DVD (with Morning Report)?
