YAY! THIS IS EXCELLENT NEWS!!!

Combined with "Composing a Classic" and the "Belle in the Library" deleted scenes that's nearly two hours of new special features!

Maybe if I'm lucky, a wopping 15 minutes of that will end up on the DVD! :)

Wow, this release is sounding better than Snow White's. As much as I loved the BD release for that one, the bonus materials focused too heavily on Hyperion Studios and the animation process in general. It didn't spend enough time on Snow White's specific production aspects, something that would've been rectified had all of the Platinum materials been ported over. In the case of Beauty and the Beast, it seems like even if most of the Platinum stuff falls by the wayside, the same ground will be covered here, and with materials and angles on the production, to boot. Bring it on, I say!

I noticed that for the Amazon listing, it has the runtime for 85 minutes. Maybe this release will have the original version without "Human Again"!

No way would disney drop that. There's not enough angry parents threatening to withdraw their dollars.

This is all very promising. Perhaps I shall raise my hopes slightly.

Okay not to be the wet blanket but is it just coincidence the 'new' documentary has almost the exact same running time as the old one?

Maybe they just renamed it. :?

Sounds great and all, but since all DVD purchases are likely going to just get burned again like last year... I think I'm going with the old Platinum on Amazon.

I'm on the fence. I don't like how the DVD purchases are just 'two disc special editions'. True, I did buy the Snow White one, but I might just buy all of the Platinum's on Amazon. (I already have 3 1/2 of them...)

I'm fairly confident it's a new documentary.

Well, (in my opinion) once again, the 2-Disc DVD gets better artwork than the Blu-ray. I guess Disney has to give DVD buyers something...

I'm really peeved at the "Disney" logo on the package. I've always lived with the "Walt Disney Pictures Presents" and "Walt Disney's" logos, so this change seems pretty drastic and unnecessary (sort of like my attitude on the situation), but I digress. I don't mind the "Disney" logo being on recent Disney films like Princess and the Frog, but for credibility and consistency's sake, I prefer the old logos.

As for the actual title boxes, I like the DVD packaging better than the BD's. The BD's title box doesn't look as fitting. Lastly, Belle looks like she got some awful nose surgery from Heidi Montag's plastic surgeon.

I wish the Beast wasn't all the way at the bottom.

Ew. Glad I've upgraded to blu.

In my opinion, that cover is a thousand times worse than the blu-ray artwork, and a kajillionbillion times worse than the original DVD PE release.

That cover is severely lacking.

It needs Milk Buds, Enigma Wing, and Gromit.
