I seriously doubt that Marina Del Ray (which, albeit distantly, links this movie to the anime once again) is a witch. To me, she sounds more like a minor antagonist (along the lines of Triton as compared to Ursula in the original). If they wanted a sorceress, they most likely would've just written Ursula into the story considering she's the villainess everyone remembers. She sounds more like a music teacher that Ariel doesn't get along with.

But you can say the same thing about the series-why creating the Evil Manta when they could Ursula for the episode In Harmony? Ursula can't cast a spell or Triton to hate music but a fish-witch (let's say,Marina Del Ray) can do it.

i still think that it's to exclude patt carol.

she's the only right villainess for me.

1.her name is Marina Dell Ray.
2.it's allways the evil magicall fish,not the evil mermaid-witch (Ursula is not a mermaid).
And yes,Ursula will be better but she can't do such a thing to Triton becouse he'll know,but Marina Dell Ray can.

Am I the only who remembers hearing that Urchin was gunna be in this movie? Maybe he got cut.

She can't? As far as I know, a fictional witch's power isn't that limited.

Why not? and besides,who she can possibley do this when she's banished? she need the person to cast a spell on him (like when she turned the merpeople into worms,she could do this from her cave,why go to Atlantica? becouse she need the person),

If this movies sucks TLM:2, then somehow I'll make a time machine and make them not make TLM2 or TLM3. So, I don't want to think negative thoughts about this movie. I hope it'll be great although the title and plot lacks something to me.

No, the one I saw had the old Toon Disney logo and it kept filpping around. I don't think it's legit.

I love the tv series! I wish they'd release it on dvd, extremely wishful thinking!

I hope we get a soundtrack with this release but knowing Disney we wont.

I haven't heard anything about Urchin being in or not being in the film, but it'd be GREAT if he is in the film- I really like him!

Deffinetly a fake. Not Photoshopped, just editted.

1.) Toon Disney Logo. No DVD release keeps the watermark from the TV on their DVDs or advertising
2.) Too much mouth movement
3.) Effects were used

If anyones checked wikipedia lately, it says that some one named Lorelei Hill Butters will be playing Queen Athena(Ariel's Mom)

neh, probably not, altough it would explain the friction between triton and ursula, something that is still left to explain!

I'm rather curious about this new ''mom'' figure that has emerged out of thin sea so to speak!

but then again, she may just turn out all right, we'll see!

another thing that's not clear, is why sebastian isn't metioned in the
cast-list on the wikipedia website, since he's obviously in the trailer
i'd hate to miss out on that terrific voice!

let us hope that wikipedia is AGAIN giving wrongfull information!
