WOWEE WOW WOW!!!! It's real! An beautiful! But, that isn't quite the final topper, actually. The entire tops, poles, and flags of the castles are not there yet!

Here is another look at the Storybook Circus expansion, featuring detailed shots of the Dumbo Flying Elephant ride:

Here is video of the attraction as well:

I must say, this is only the soft opening but I am beyond impressed with Storybook Circus. The theme is just plain beautiful. I love how Dumbo looks at night. The Barnstormer looks even better than its ToonTown version. If this is what we can expect out of the full expansion when it fully opens next year then I will be beyond happy.

Wow, Barnstormer looks like a Six Flags ride now with that empty lot (well, Disney used mulch instead of rocks but it's essentially the same thing). Honestly, they should've torn it down and put in Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin instead. I always wanted the real ToonTown and getting a fourth dumbo ride and a de-themed Barnstormer just doesn't seem worth the effort they put into this area.

Here are even more pictures of the expansion:

And quite frankly, I think both areas look great. While I do agree that they should have ported over some of the rides at Disneyland (Alice, Mr. Toad, Pinocchio etc.) it seems that they are doing great in terms of theming and design. The new Dumbo in particular looks beautiful.

Wait, is there going to be a show at Storybook Circus? I did see some concept art for a show, plus they said that Humphery and Pete are in the SC, and the sign did say, "Come and see our shows!"

I think that the "show" may be Pete's Silly Sideshow, which may or may not be a character meet-n-greet section.

Our family reunion will take place here in August, is there any chance that BE OUR GUEST will be open by then? We are hoping that Disney can work their magic and have this open! Is there any kind of date that you could give us?
Keep watching the blog – we should have opening dates to announce soon!

At the pace they're going, if we're lucky, the new Fantasyland could be ready and open before 2012 comes to a close, providing that the world doesn't blow up by then.

Actual construction has only just started so I don't think there's a hold-up. At least the rest of it will be open fairly soon and Storybook Circus is not far from being finished so the end is finally in sight, it feels like they've been working of this expansion for a lot longer than they actually have.

Yeah, they just begun construction a month ago (I think). I don't get why it took so long. The TLM & BATB areas are like half away done. They begun construction for it last year, so I don't get why it took so long.
