This is semi-off topic, but Best Buy is having a promotion right now where certain Disney films are only $5.99 and you get a free poster for Snow White with them. There are two posters to choose from.

Pictures of the posters are featured in this week's Sunday add, which can be viewed at bestbuy.com. One is the 1938 poster with the dwarfs heads and the other is the 1958 rerelease poster.

As for the titles offered, Best Buy doesn't offer a complete list. The add highlights Hocus Pocus, Princess Diaries 2, and Bridge to Terabithia. I remember seeing Million Dollar Duck, The Cat from Outer Space, Parent Trap (1998), Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Freaky Friday (1976), The Happiest Millionaire, Summer Magic, and The Adventures of Huck Finn. However, I know there were more than that and it may differ from store to store.

I've been meaning to pick up Hocus Pocus so that is really nice to know that I'll be able to get the poster with it!

If I didn't already have Bridge to Terabithia, I would jump on this. Hocus Pocus we're likely getting a special edition for, and the others I might consider. I can pay someone if they're willing to ship one of the posters my way.

You can also buy the posters at Best Buy. They are $4.99 a piece, but for an extra dollar, they are free with one of many catalog titles, so it would be an unwise thing to do.

But don't you think it is worth getting the Hocus Pocus DVD now for only 5.99 plus get the free poster? It would be just about the same to pay to ship one... or to buy an individual one for 4.99 at Best Buy.

Does anyone know what the exclusives will be when u pick up the copy in the store next week?? i pre-ordered already at best buy, but maybe something else came up?? I'm not talking about pre-orders, just when u pick it up thanks

I was wondering that as well. Usually by this time we know what promotions stores will have for day of sales. Someone on this forum mentioned a while ago that since retailers don't make as much money per Blu-Ray sold as they do for DVDs, they are often reluctant to do promotions for Blu-Rays. Perhaps because this release is really the Blu-Ray combo pack, retailers decided they didn't want a promotion? So far, Best Buy seems to be the only store that offers Blu-Ray promotions, and since they did the free Steelbook preorder, having more free stuff would seem over the top. But I guess we will know for sure next Sunday when the ads go out.

I'm so torn as to whether or not I should buy simply the Blu-ray or the exquisite Limited Edition Collector's Set.

It's my second favorite Disney only after, obvi, TLM, but I mean it's a whopping $149.99 at Best Buy.

But at least I have the $10 off coupon!

And get the plush set. Nothing says "I'm a huge fan of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" more than the ability to actually have seven dwarfs in huggy toy form. HUGGY TOY FORM!!! You can line them up on your bed or arrange them by size with other stuffed animals!

The Little Merman, since the film means so much to you, I'd try and go for the deluxe set. However, I don't think the $10 coupon will work on the set, but you might be able to convince Best Buy to honor it.

And Escapay, if you want dwarfs that are even more "huggy," get the set of 11" plushes from Disney Store. You save a whopping 20% when you buy all 7 (but it's still $92.40 pre-tax and shipping...).

And really? The plush set? I suppose it would be rather cute to have all of the dwarfs as such. Maybe the fact that it's just not as elegant as the grand ol' set hinders its value in my mind.

But when I think about it, it really just isn't worth like half of a week's check to spend on a big, honkin' Collector's Set when I'm moving to New York City in January. What, am I going to bring it with me?

Thanks, goofystitch. I was actually just being very silly about the plushes as it's a bit of an inside joke with CampbellzSoup and with anyone who knows my Christmas 1988 story. (In short, I was supposed to get a Seven Dwarfs plush pack and my sister was supposed to get a toy horse, but somehow the labels got switched on our gifts, and not wanting to upset Santa, we accepted the gifts we got and never really "traded" them back. So I like to say I'm getting the Plush Set as a way of finally owning the Seven Dwarfs after all these years.)

Well you can always leave it at your parents' home and visit it on the weekends. Call them every so often to make sure that the Blu-Ray gets played at least once a week, ensure that the book doesn't get dust on it, that the pins are still sharp on the back. Then when you've settled in, have them bring it down and you'll make a place for it on your shelf. It'll be weird at first as it suddenly has to adjust to a tiny apartment and the noise from the streets. But over time it'll settle in and accept that New York is its new home.

Can anybody tell me why in this Diamon Edition
the main titles and the opening storybook pages are windowboxed
as it has been reported in several reviews?

I do not understand why they did that...

Also, it's kind of cheap on Disney's part not to have
included a Cine-Explore feature like they did on Pinocchio and
Sleeping Beauty blurays

Also....I believe the code via amazon for the $10 off of Snow White even works with the whopping $150 Collector's set.....and thats how I did it and it took the price down $10....maybe a loophole but it may also work for the Plush set...

I don't have an answer to your first question, but I'm assuming that they didn't do a Cine-Explore for Snow White because they didn't do a new commentary. The previous Cine-Explore's would use a mix of picture-in-picture footage of the commentary being recorded in addition to all of the pop-ups. Also, reviews of the Hyperion Studios feature have claimed it to be so immersive that they probably didn't have much to add with a new commentary. I love Cine-Explore and was originally sad to hear there wouldn't be one on the Blu-Ray, but after reading reviews, the disc sounds so jam packed that I don't think it will be missed on this release.

The $10 off code works on all versions of Snow White being released on October 6th at amazon.com. I used it on the deluxe set as well, but it will work with the others as well (plush set and book set).

For anyone interested, you type "snowhite" in the discount area at checkout. Note that the code only has 1 "w."

If I were a gambling man...(which sometimes I am but thats a topic for another thread in time) I would bet they will....If they can get Muppets and Hannah Montana I wouldn't think getting a copy of Snow White Blu would be any problems...

Anyway that being said they could be working on the review right now....just they want to give it a very informative and won't be as fast as a Winnie the Pooh dtv re-release due to....there being more content and all
