But... but... that one has Penélope Cruz in it, so it *must* be good!! :o ;)

I've only seen one sequel and a dozen episodes of the tv show, but even though I hadn't (like I did with most Disney sequels), I think it takes away from the original. You know, I watched the almost 2 hour long 'Making of' on the Lilo & Stitch dvd, and it was so obvious that this was Chris Sanders' "baby"; that he and Dean DuBlois had put their heart and soul into it; and they made the movie exactly the way *they* wanted to make it... and it really shows in the sincerity of the film... and then to think they had to stand by and watch how Disney literally destroyed their characters and their universe for cheap quick money. :headshake:

That's why I always advise young inspiring artists to never go work for Disney. I know some who are very good, who want to be in Disney comics (they're still made in The Netherlands and are very popular), but I always say: "don't do it". If you have such good drawing abilities and so much creativity, don't waste it on Disney, who will take all your rights away and leave you with a meager salary, while they get huge profits from reprinting your stories over and over without you ever seeing a penny of it. Create your own characters and comics and keep the rights to yourself.

The photo above was snapped in the hallway of Disney Feature Animation (in the “Hat Building”). It’s a full-length mural, painted on the wall, I suppose to inspire the production staff to think 60s style… and, for the record, Disney never released any film in “Deluxe Color” which was owned then by 20th Century-Fox. Disney of course, had a long term deal with Technicolor™ (though they did strike an Eastman Color print on rare occasions).

Well, I'm actually not a huge fan, if you can believe it. ;)

So, with Disney as it is, do you expect this to be a reboot for the franchise?

Considering they cancelled My Friends Tigger and Pooh for this new movie, hopefully any reboot will will not go down that path again.

I think they did so to remove that "toddler fodder" image pooh had, but that's just based off memory.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Lasseter said somewhere that it was his intention to reboot all of Disney's franchises. He didn't like how Pooh and Mickey had become so kiddy and the princess films so girly.

I think in ways we can see this influence in Tangled. Pooh seems to be aiming hardcore for the nostalgia factor. We're also hearing a lot of rumors about a lot of projects involving Mickey and the gang for a future DAC.

I think he's quoting a Katy Perry song. You know, that failed clone of Zooey Deschanel that's escaped from the lab and started a 'singing' career.

Winnie the Pooh: David Edwards film review
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rvo2CwW54RY

In this above UK review the film critic says:
"The main feature lasts just 54 minutes with a 73-minute running time panned out by two unrelated and quite forgettable shorts; plus an extended closing credits".
Two shorts? :o Isn't it just The Ballad of Nessie? Is there another short playing in front of the film in the UK or do you think that the critic was just confused and mistaken?

Oh God that review wasn't that great I'm not quite sure what he means by the shorts and all too?
