Anyone gotten any slipcovers from Disney lately? I called yesterday for a Tarzan slipcover and I said I didn't get one, then they turned me down and that they only replace damaged ones. I just called again today and I said I have a damaged Tarzan slipcover, yet they still turned me down. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Does anyone have a list of all the Disney DVD's that have a Slip Cover and when they came out?

Curious to know how many there are. :)

I know that all of the PE's, except for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, have Slipcovers. As do these titles:

Pocahontas 10th Anniversary Edition
Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch Has A Glitch
Tarzan II
Bambi II
(Which I think that it should have been entitled Bambi and the Great Prince of the Forest because it sounds catchier than just having II, but that's just IMO)
Kronk's New Groove

Hang on, don't all of the Disney movies get Slipcovers when they are first released? And then they lose them because it costs too much to reproduce them? So why would this even matter? Well, except for the Collector's Editions which were too big to make a Slipcover.

Nope. The only Pixar collector's edition dvd without one.

do you think it's worth holding out for, or can we assume it'll be ten years or so before there's a new version of Monster's Inc?

You're prepeared to miss out on the best Pixar film for untold months or years, just because the current release doesn't have a slipcover?

:headshake:

You can always buy and enjoy it now and when news comes of a new version sell your old one to get money to put towards the new release (but given Disney's recent re-releases, you may be better keeping the old one anyhow... for you know, actual content). :P

Well, not counting the first release of A Bug's Life: CE, which was in a double-alpha case.

But all nitpicking aside, I'd definitely pick up Monsters Inc, BigFish, slipcover or not.

Double-alpha case? What does that look like? Walk the Line Collector's Edition case?

No, It's like a double keepcase. A good example of one would be Snow White and the MASH season set releases.

I'm pretty sure the Walk the Line CE is a digipak. Haven't bought it yet, so I don't know. But Robin Hood gave excellent examples: Snow White and MASH.

Disney uses/used double-alpha cases for:

Tarzan CE
A Bug's Life CE
Dinosaur CE
TENG CE
Atlantis CE
Snow White PE
Tron CE
Vault Disney releases (Old Yeller, Pollyanna, Swiss Family Robinson, Parent Trap)
20K Under the Sea SE
The Love Bug SE (though later copies look to be a slightly thicker dual-amaray)
Treasures Waves 1-4

15 pages are too long to read so, Does Alice in Wonderland The Masterpiece Edition have a slipcover? And if it does, is there any way to get a slipcover for it? Same with A Bug's Life Re-Issued Collector's Edition :D

Ya know, you could always look on the front page of the post, in fact, on the very first post... All the info should be there (what DVDs come with slipcovers and a phone number to contact Disney and request covers...)

To answer your question, yes, both titles came with a slipcover in Region 1. You can call Disney at 1-800-723-4763, although they may or may not have the covers. They have been limiting people to a total of 5 replacement requests...

Posting a reply like that (the one that littlefuzzy replied to) in this thread is a small step away from starting an unclearly-titled thread to ask about movies having slipcovers.

Don't bother requesting a DVD Slipcover anymore from Disney!

I called to request a slipcover for Lady And The Tramp II Scamp's Adventure and they told me they could not give it to me! I know people that already gotten OLD slipcovers from Disney with no problem but I don't know why i am getting a problem! The lady is looking into it and she is going to get back to me in an hour or so!

So note that they do not send them out anymore just replace damaged ones! :x

I AM VERY MAD AT THIS!

I hope they chock on them!

It's a neat feature they had, but at the end of the day those things are just glorified cardboards... Nothing worth getting heated about.
